After having a chance to look through this one, I have to say I like this issue better than the huge anniversary issue. Several items in it seem to be of use for the Realms fan that might pick it up.
A Demonomicon entry on Kostchtchie (yeah, go figure, I got excited about a giant related article).
An article about sea serpents, statting three species of them as per their being essentially dragons. Lots of ocean off the Sword Coast, lots of room for sea serpents . . . they are all statted up like true dragons, with age categories, and they look pretty cool.
An Ecology of the Annis that has some information on Cegilune.
A Bazaar of the Bizarre with giant related magic items.
Oh, and an article on Artifact Spells, which are apparently going to be introduced officially in Secrets of Xen'drik . . . I'm going to start a new scroll on this one, as this has shot up my list of things to steal from Eberron.
Oh, and a side note on conversion notes. If you don't want to take the time to do them right, don't even try. The article on giants and drow fighting in Xen'drik has a conversion sidebar that mentions that if you want to use the tribe of Stone Giant barbarians, you could use them in Geoff in Greyhawk, or if you want to use the tribe of drow, you could use them in Cormanthor in Faerun. Of course, the barbarian stone giants seem nothing like any giants near Geoff in Greyhawk (My favorite PC ever was a ranger from the region, and a dedicated giant hunter), and the drow tribe would be severely out of place in Cormanthor.
If the only thing you are going to do for conversion note is go, "hey, aren't there giants near Geoff in Greyhawk" or "surface drow tribes, some of those in Cormanthor in Faerun," don't bother, because anyone with a working knowledge of the setting can come up with that level of "conversion." It also helps to know that a stone age (sorry) level barbarian tribe of Stone Giants doesn't really fit with the giants near Geoff any more than a tropical "tribal" style group of surface drow fits in Cormanthor.
