Hey everyone,I was wondering if any of you could suggest what they think is the best forgotten realms gaming supplement book focusing on elves in any edition (in print or out). I guess I'm looking for a good blend of background/history related material along with useful info for playing an elf in the realms setting. I have read most FR novels involving major elf themes, it's just that outside of the FR campaign book, I haven't used any of the FR supplement books for gaming. I'm looking to change that and dive into supplemental material involving my favorite race to play as. thank you in advance.

I know you said you like having OOP material... but that URL for Cormanthyr I provided above offers the WotC PDF version of the sourcebook. And since the accessory isn't the easiest 2e FR supplement to obtain a hard copy of, you would do well for yourself to have access to this version until you can find a hard copy of the accessory to purchase.

| I was thinking along those lines when I was mulling around sites for Cormanthyr, it is pretty handy having access to those supplements for free. thanks again for the suggestion. |

| Maybe you should slo consider buying the old Complete Elves Handbook, or whatever that title was. It is more generic in its nature but there are some cultural snippets that I really enjoyed reading |

| Remarkably, there is no good sourcebook focusing on elves in the present-day Realms. Cormanthyr has the best material but is focused on the past. Elves of Evermeet is not a very authentic Realms sourcebook. PHBR8 is not Realmslore and was repudiated by its author. Etc. |

| ok?? your point would be?????????? I think we are stating opinion over fact. What are the availble resources that cover elves in the realms, and within THAT list, what are the best choices?? Personally, I was actually very happy with races of Faerun. |

| I think the suggestions given,(I have indeed checked a few out already) are great for what is out there. As a somewhat noob, it appears to me that older editions of d&d material had race specific books. It would be nice to have a 3.5 realms source book that does focus specifically on elves (and other individual race books) so it can go into a little more in detail than the "races of" FR books. I would imagine it would give players and writers better insight to contemporary realms canon material and I love a supplement that serves as both a functional gaming tool and a tome of lore. |

Right you are, the "races" part of races of Faerun is kind of plural 
it would be great to have an updated all encompassing sourcebook, that pertained only to elves, but as we all know there isn't one at this time. So as an alternative I was looking through "any" sourcebook that referenced elves and it's culture, and came up with a couple others not listed already, both realms and non-realms. unaproachable east covers star elves, fall of Myth Drannor has some good info, and races of the wild has a good "generic" section on elves. |

totally, and you guys gave me exactly what I was looking for, given the material that is out there. I just think that Faraer was lamenting with me that there currently is no up to date elf specific book released. Thank you all again for your help and suggestions. |
