http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/mc/mc20010829c

can the The Hamagess’ Staffsprout spell apply itself to several branch on a tree in the same time with a only casting ?

Can one destroy a tree wholly with this spell if the branch didn't break off ?

Thanks for your future answer.

The spell does not affect branches on a tree; they're only used as material components. I'm not an authority on 2e rules, but that's my interpretation.

The only material component in the description is a magic staff, not the branch.

And you would be correct. It causes branches to grow out of a wand, staff, or rod and the material components are said items and a branch from certain trees.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

there are two versions from the spell, one in the chapter : Leaves of Gold and an other in Chapter 10 that seems to be a version for the 3rd edition.

:) Yar :)

And even so, both spells from the 2e version and the 3e version say the same thing. The spell causes a branch to sprout from a rod, staff, or wand or in 3e's version, a staff.
