Well, as the title says...
I just went through some part of Magic of Faerun, more specifically the gods of Magic, wizards etc...
If Selune and Shaar were basically Mystryl's parents so to speak, and they gave birth to Toril/Chauntea, is Mystryl/Mystra I and II not responsible for all non-divine magic on Toril?
It's said that Corellon and others basically 'ignore' her. How can this be if she is the one that brings magic to the world?

Yup, Mystra 1-3 are the ones responsible for regulating and controlling the Weave that grants non-divine magic to Toril and Faerun.
Correllon don't really ignore her, for though Correllon controls the elven High Magic, still such elven High Magic must be accessed through the Weave which is under Mystra's dominion, hence I believe Correllon do still maintain some sort of friendship and friendly contact with Mystra though the relationship between them both isn't particulary superstrong. |

Mace, here's Ed Greenwood's take on this (and he created the whole shooting match, so is the paramount expert, so to speak):
None of us can fully trust any of the creation mythos (i.e. where Mystra came from initially). All we know is that the current system of arcane spells that work, works through Mystra, who IS the Weave. The Weave is an infinite series of handles that let mortals harness the natural energies of Toril. The Weave is magic, but only part of magic (the arcane spells sort of magic), and "magic" is really only a mortal term for "a way I got power from somewhere to do this and that and this other effect." There. Clear as mud. :}
So saith Ed. As he said: clear as mud. love, THO |

I tend to view Mystra as the Magical equivelent ICANN (The organisation that sees that the Internet runs properly)
Azuth, Corellon, Savras, Velshoon, Cyric and the 3 Magic Gods from Mulhorond are like the Internet service providers they can provide access to the Weave but they cant change how the Weave works. |

Actually, according to the novel "Shadows of Doom," Azuth is another being that possesses Mystra's power, just like her Chosen. If necessary he can help Mystra mantain the Weave. |
