All right, I have already been active posting for a few days and I frankly forgot about making my 'official' appearance here. Forgive me.

I've been playing RPGs since the Mid-80s, so that probably makes me a 2nd generation roleplayer. During this time I played many systems, and I've made characters for many more I never really played.

To the Realms I came rather belatedly, about eight years ago. Mainly because I wanted a background rich environment where not every adventure was dealing with saving the entire world, yet again. (My 'first' AD&D campaign world was Krynn)

Being a writer in addition to my hobby RPG, I am, as those who read my pots can probably tell, a fiddler for detail and a perfectionist. Things have to be logical and coherent for me, and if you think I am fairly obsessive about perfection when it comes to world building, you should see me in my 'creative moods' when I pace through the room, demanding of whomever I talk with utter silence.
Hehehe, one of my writer friends tagged me as a brooding poet, I think she is right.

Aside from writing and RPGing, I have also tried my hand at translating material from English into my native tongue, German. I translated 8 DragonLance short stories and worked on the German version for the FRCS.

The Realms have given my players and me already many enjoyable hours of gaming, and being the perfectionist that I am I tend to re-read crucial novels just to be damn sure I got it right.

And before anyone asks about the name, Mace Hammerhand was my dwarven ftr/clr in Baldur's Gate way before Sam Jackson got the StarWars gig. Back when Episode I was still a bright hope for all fans. (What happened to that hope? It got shattered, like so many others)

As such, I think I am here to stay.

Well met, lads and lasses.

I was here for a year before I did my intro thread...

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

And an equally belated:
Well met, and welcome to keep Mace Hammerhand. Let us hope your stay here will be pleasant and informative.
Perhaps you'd care to click the uppermost link in my signature and show us where you live?

There is a rumour going around that I have found god. I think is unlikely because I have enough difficulty finding my keys, and there is empirical evidence that they exist.
