Before I start this, though I am good at anti-transmutation, know I am not around all the time.

Bookwrym is 21yrs old

I know now that the bar is open, everybody will buy him a round of ale and wine to celebrate his coming of age. (He won't let me do it for real).

Just know that he will try to turn it to into skim milk or some other non alcoholic drink. And that would just be rude of the Little Wyrm.

Hmph. I was hoping you wouldn't say that. I'm supposed to be a millennia-old mithril dragon, you know. Oh well, I'll just say it's the age of my human avatar . . . .

Now, I suppose I'd better go memorize that drink-transmutational spell again . . . .

"What's that," asked Mogget.
"Sardines," said Sam. "I knew they were standard rations, so I got a few tins for you."
"What are sardines?" Moggest asked suspiciously. "And why is there a key? Is this some sort of Abhorsen joke?"

Congratulations, Bookwyrm. Let the following years of your life be filled with pleasure, knowledge, health, friendship and love!

Love magic for itself. Do not treat it just as a weapon to reshape the world to your will. True wisdom is knowing when not to use magic. Strive to use magic less as your powers develop, for often the threat or promise of its use outstrips is actual performance. Magic is an Art, the Gift of the Lady, and those who wield it are privileged it the extreme. Conduct yourself humbly, not proudly, while being mindful of this. Use the Art deftly and efficiently, not carelessly and recklessly. Seek always to learn and create new magic.

Lyte lifts her glass to Bookwyrm. May you have only good things in the years to come
Are dragon years like dog years? *Lyte ducks again* Wow, the mugs sure are flying today... Anyhow, Bookwyrm, your age is listed in your profile...so you really can't fault the GOLD dragon for wanting the realms to celebrate the passing of another year... after all, they've known you scarcely a moment, in the time that he;s known you.
Now, about hitting poor defenseless??? elphs.... grrrrrrrr....not all women want all that feminist crap... let a dragon open a door for me anyday!!

Hey, I'm just pointing out that if women want to be treated as equals, then it should be equal. (By the way, I do open doors, but only if I'm already there. You've got arms too, you know. )

[Bookwyrm leans in and whispers back.]

If you're a dragon, you've got arms. If you don't, then you're a wyvern.

Just thought I would offer my congratulations...though being the tender and oh-so-innocent age of 19 I don't really feel I should be offering wise words of wisdom...

It is knowledge that influences and equalizes the social condition of man; that gives to all, however different their political position, passions which are in common, and enjoyments which are universal.

Well Met

Ahem, not wanting to spoil your fun, could we please keep personal conversations down on the forum as it has got to a point of distraction (people are trying to get on with their studies ) and leave this area for welcoming new visitors to the library.

Thank you.
