Expectation of service is directly proportional to the amount paid. So, we scribes can't really complain. Just keep up the good work. |

Just to update you all (for those of you who manage to get on the site at all!), the connection provider has informed us that the problem is due to an overloaded router to the server. We havent been given any estimation as to when this will be resolved.

Bookwyrm carefully enters the library, walking as if prepared to jump out at the slightest sign of danger. When nothing bars his entry, he straightens with a look of strained relief on his face. Placing a hand on the nearest wall, he pushes against it -- gently at first, then with more force.
When nothing collapses, Bookwyrm lets out a tension-filled sigh. Satisfied that the disruption is passed, he smooths out his robes and walks deeper into the library, looking to see if anyone else has arrived . . . . |

*sneaks up behind Bookwyrm very silenty and... 'sneaky'-like... and suddenly puts his hands on Bookwyrm's shoulders and whispers "Boo!" and runs off snickering to himself hoping to scare the you-know-what out of Booky.* |

Latest update:
Site downtime is still occuring and we have finally got to the root of the problem!
For those of you interested in the technical explanation...
A router upgrade was performed a few days back due to previous overloading. Since then it was identified that certain brands of modem were randomly rebooting and loosing connections. The connection provider is currently in talks with the router suppliers to determine the problem. They suspect the firmware is at fault. However, I have decided to put my hand in my pocket and scratch up a few copper coins to buy a new modem for the Candlekeep server and am awaiting installation.....when this will be, I do not know.
Until then, apologies for the inconvenience |

Excellent. I've already had to recast my polymorph spell twice so for to replace the hair I've yanked out . . . . I'm glad to know the end's in sight.
By the way, I'm just curious -- is "firmware" the Anglic term for "hardware"? |

Webmaster, Thanks for keeping us updated. I hope the problems you're facing will be solved soon. Good luck! |
Love magic for itself. Do not treat it just as a weapon to reshape the world to your will. True wisdom is knowing when not to use magic. Strive to use magic less as your powers develop, for often the threat or promise of its use outstrips is actual performance. Magic is an Art, the Gift of the Lady, and those who wield it are privileged it the extreme. Conduct yourself humbly, not proudly, while being mindful of this. Use the Art deftly and efficiently, not carelessly and recklessly. Seek always to learn and create new magic. |

Ok, heres the latest....
An engineer is due TONIGHT to install a new modem which should resolve the issue. Hopefully that will be the end to the downtime problem.

Good work, Webmaster. I haven't been able to post very much in the Candlekeep Inn lately due to the downtime, but now I look forward to posting there as a moderator. |

I assume nobody else has been able to get on to Candlekeep today? More server problems no doubt? |

As Bookwyrm said above: (and I paraphrase yet again) We don't pay, so we can't complain. Just keep up the great work and I'll be satisfied. Man, this is great site! |
