I was thinking of this one, in part, due to a thread on Paizo's boards that featured a Troll Weretyrannosaurus Warhulk (yes, several people pointed out that Tyrannosaurus is out of the size range for lycanthropes), but this idea got my gears going . . .

The druid of Meilikki will end up, if he follows the clues from the book he inherited, going to Chult to obtain a key to a gate for his long term quest. This key is in Chult and he should attract the attention of the Black Blood there. I wanted to throw him for a loop, because thus far, the Black Blood has been searching for the same artifact and dogging his steps, so I wanted to throw Mainu of Chult and here weretigers at him, not entirely as enemies. But I am now thinking that a pack of Were Cave Tyrannosaurus of the Black Blood might be active and more malevolent, perhaps even challenging Mainu and her band, and catching the PCs between one group of Black Blood hunters that are vicious, but not evil, and one group that is more in line with what they know of them.

So, any thoughts on a Chultan band of Were Cave Tyrannosaurs Black Blood members?

(BTW, Cave Tyrannosaurus are detailed in the Miniatures Handbook, and they are noted as being the result of Yuan-ti experimentation, which would be in keeping with Chult).

Were velociraptors would be interesting, and it brings up this idea . . . most of the Black Blood packs are ruled by a Blood Master that is the same species as they are, but would a pack of weredinosaurs stay together in a pack if they weren't ruled by a Blood Master of their type?

I could see a pack of Wereraptors with a Blood Master that is a Were Cave Tyrannosaur . . . You bring up a good point Wooly, in that raptors would be more likely to be pack hunters than a group of Tyrannosaurs . . . but I really have been wanting to use the cave dinosaurs for something too . . .

An idea I had a long time ago, but that I've since abandoned...

I came up with the idea of a drow family that found some velociraptors, and engaged in a breeding program... They wound up creating a new breed of velociraptor. It had jet-black skin, infravision, near-human intelligence, and limited telepathic abilities (mostly with its own kind). I had a pack of these get loose, led by a super-smart one that had become a cleric of Malar...

I was more inclined to power-gaming back then, and this idea came to me shortly after the movie Jurassic Park came out... I've since given it up as a lost cause, but I'll present it here, for anyone to take.

Have always had some considerations about the dinosaurs of Chult... Find them kind of misplaced in the RPG-realm. But i am going to run a campaign set in chult soon and i want to try it out anyway. So i think i wanna give it a try with a few dinosaurs. But nothing major. Perhaps i will incorporate the ideas mentioned. They sound like quality gaming.
