There is a secret gnome realm listed in the Unapproachable east scource book. It does not however state much about the realm, or tell anything about it. Has anyone heard of this realm?

I'm going to side-step the issue a little bit (because, no, I haven't heard about it), and instead post a link to a rather old and long thread that detailed all sorts of Underdark cities. It started with deep gnomes and then sort of expanded. I refer to it often. Your answer might be within.

Its in the sunrise mountains I believe. I don't believe its named officially. I have heard rumors that they've got gnomish master illusionists who have actually placed themselves within the ranks of the Thayan wizards to work as spies to protect themselves. Of course, wearing red robes, much less impersonating a Thayan wizard is punishable by death.... and gnomes are law abiding folk, so just disregard those rumors. You never heard the name Fibean Lysander from me.... ever. Any rumors about the red wizard Fibean Lysander (who was wrongly reported as being a Zulkir prior to Spellbound, but is really just a powerful red wizard) are clearly lies and should not be believed.

Okay i know i originally posted this question, and ironically i found the answer the other day, when i was looking under the places of worship for gnomish gods in the Demihuman deities book. It actually details the Hidden realm of gnomes! So if you want to know about it just ask! I also found a cool gnomish mining community that is hidden from the Zents right under their noses. |

I wonder if the reason that (possibly) the last gnomish kingdom is at the edge of "civilized" Faerun is that this is the farthest the gnomish slave refugees reached when fleeing Netheril...
I wonder how the dates match between the Netherese exidus (sp?), the fall of the Imaskari, the whole Thay/Mulhorond thing and the Raumathar/Narfell war...that is alot of turbulant and dangerous history at your doorstep |

Songfarla was founded by gnomish refugees... I think -247 DR or so...too lazy to get the dDragon to my comp atm.
The Imaskari fell some 3k years ago, since Mulhoran exists at least that long, so there wouldn't be that much of a chance gnomes dropping in on this trouble. Thay was founded way after Netheril fell (I think) |

I know that...but that area is probably the most contested and magically currupted (as in fiend summoning, vile magic, etc.) in the Realms...imagine you escape slavery and a few decades later (considering a gnome's lifespan) you have all that crap going on around you... |

Glancing over the "The Horde" article (from DRAGON #349) web supplement at paizo.com, I noticed Songfarla receives some additional detailing.
how much info is given to Songfarla in the magazine (I won't be getting it for weeks )? I'm reading the web supplement now, the Songfarla info is brief... |

Many thanks Sages! I have that tome of Dragon, as well as George's article (in Dragon 346)on the way. I look forward to delving into both sets of lore... |
