In Champions of Ruin, an "event" (or group or entity) called the Night Parade is mentioned but there is no further explanation given. Can anyone tell me what it is and where I can read more about it? Also, in the Waterdeep book (the 3rd ed. one) there is a ncie picture showing two skeletons with scythes riding...and the title says something akin to "Myrkul's legion" or something like that...what is meant by that? Was there something connected to Myrkul not mentioned in the sourcebook?

The Night Parade are detailed in Villian's Lorebook and the Night Parade novel in the Harper Series. :) Hero's Lorebook also details that NPC's from the Night Parade novel. |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

It's likely from the last day of the Avatar Crisis, when Myrkul's denizens were attacking Waterdeep. See the third novel of the Avatar trilogy, Waterdeep. I believe the module of the same name covers this, as well. |

As I recall, they are Night Riders, and are in fact given a detailed write-up in the Waterdeep adventure module for the the Time of Troubles.

Those Night Parade were NASTY. I'm surprised they were taken out at all!
It was suggested in the Villain's Lorebook that they are probably spread all over Faerun. That's a pretty chilling thought. |

Try reading the old Harpers' novel called the The Night Parade written by Scott Ciencin, it features good information about the Night Parade Creatures. Of course, even if they are spread all over Faerun, the hunters are never far away as the old saying goes. |
We have fostered trust, recruited loyalty, and gathered the faithful. We have trained thousands. Our legions can cover the land, fill the sky and travel through the darkness. We can hunt any and all that would deny our heritage. Now is our time, now is the time of the Dark Reign(Rain) of the Empire of Shadows. - High Prince Telemont Tanthul, Lord Shadow In a speech given to the citizens of Shade Enclave At the celebration of the Shinantra Battle victory when he revealed that he was THE Lord Shadow of legend. |
