Greetings All.
I have recently started running my wife’s new solo champagne for her, it is set in Waterdeep in Year of Rogue Dragons. I am trying to make sure the city becomes a living breathing place for her. We have been playing in the realms for many years, but this is the first time we have set a campaign in Waterdeep. My wife much to my surprise has decided to run this character.
Nalla Hallowstep Lightfoot Halfling rouge1/ bard 1 her stated goal is to run this character up to level 20 as a native of Waterdeep eventually taking the Fochlucan Lyrist prestige class from the complete adventurer. This character is married to an expert vintner / brewer in good standing with his guild. She has decided that the next step in her master plan is to go door to door selling pony kegs of the peach brandy he produces. It should be noted that he was not originally intended to be a plot hook it just worked out that way. Her intent is to visit every inn, tavern and feast hall in Waterdeep selling brandy. I am calling this event the master pub crawl. Looking at the Waterdeep source book there are 87 named establishments that might buy her wears.
The Fochlucan Lyrist is supposed to be an expert rumor monger, spy and diplomat so I am taking this opportunity to establish as many contacts for the character throughout water deep as possible. I have decided to roll play out the entire pub crawl she will visit every inn and tavern in water deep. Toward this end I have decided to generate a massive 100 entry random encounter table well actually two street encounters and inn / tavern encounters I may divide these up by district fore ease of use. So here I am asking you for your waterdeep random encounters they can be anything from a commoner throwing a chamber pot out a window to that litch that somehow snuck in. Let me know if the encounter takes place on the street or in a tavern or inn if it’s an encounter with the potential for combat give me a CR and or El I am counting on a firestorm of creativity from the masters of realms lore on these boards. Im am trying to swamp her with plot hooks rumors and intrigue in deep thick layers that are impossible to unravel.
