Hi all, i am a complete newbie to the FR books. So far i have only read Paths of Darkness, Spellfire and i am just beginning Condemnation (War of the Spider Queen), having read the first 2. That is the order i have read them in too. I was just wondering, what came before Paths of Darkness, also what was the first book written in the FR books? Another question i wish to ask is, what are the books about the beginning of Drzzt's life? He's outcast from Menzobaranzan etc. Any answere will be much appreciated.

You're looking for the DARK ELF trilogy -- Homeland, Exile, and Sojourn. It's written by R A Salvatore.
The first book of the MOONSHAE trilogy, Darkwalker on Moonshae by Doug Niles, was the "first" FR novel published in 1986/87.

The first Book for FR was Darkwalker on Moonshae in 1987 from the Moonshae Trilogy. The first Drizzt novels written were the Icewind Dale trilogy after he left the udnerdark but Salvatore went back and wrote The Dark elf trilogy (Homeland, exile, and sojourn) which is from the tiem Drizzt is born til he goes to the surface. Icewind dale trilogy and dark elf trilogy are the best Drizzt novels if you ask me. The next 3-4 (Legacy of the Drow novels) aren't bad but they slowly get worse after that. War of the spider queen is a pretty good series as well, I have not read the final book yet, don't think it is out on paperback yet.

| So far i have found the Spider Queen Trilogy to be really cool, very interesting, i read the first 3 in 4 days, i just couldn't get enough. Thanks for the info to btw The Saga and Beezy. |
