Wow, no one's posted anything . . . . Sure, there's another topic ("Artifacts") that's very similar, but I'm still surprised.
Anyway, my favorite so far is the invention of Elaine Cunningham, and her greatest contribution to the Realms (Danilo Thann being a close second; I like him): the moonblades. I just like the idea of a moonblade, and how each is unique . . . . |

I like my longsword the most, of course. They are good company when I kill those foolish goblins. And armor? Well...a magic leather armor or a chain mail.(or my drowish adamentite armor) |

I almost forgot...I like two-bladed swords, too. They're quite handy. |

My favorite weapon has to be Lifedrinker from the PHB. That is until i come across a enchanted scythe however. I <3 scythes |

My favorite weapon would be a scimitar or katana because they are curved blades which are superior to the heavier straight-edged blades. Favorite armor would be chainmail because it is light mail easy to move around in. |

Have you ever TRIED chainmail? I have, and it was made of modern, lightweight steel. It's not light. I admit I'm not exactly a muscled warrior, but I doubt you are either . . . .
I forgot to say what mine would be . . . . I'd prefer leathers, mostly because I'd be a ranger if I were a warrior-type. (Of course, since I'm a dragon, as I've publicly admitted here, I wouldn't bother with such mundane methods of fighting . . . .) |

My favorite weapon would have to be...*thinks*...a tie between moonblades, Drizzt's scimitars, and Danilo's singing sword. Lol.
As for armor, chainmail, leathers, or something that conceals well (for theives and such). my characters are mainly assassins and rangers. |
"What's that," asked Mogget. "Sardines," said Sam. "I knew they were standard rations, so I got a few tins for you." "What are sardines?" Moggest asked suspiciously. "And why is there a key? Is this some sort of Abhorsen joke?" Abhorsen by Garth Nix

Eventhough thier my hated kin, the drow weapons are the most spectacular in all of Fareun. Its not how the make them but how they put magic on them. But my most favorite weapon is Twinkle, the glowing blade. My most favorite armor is mithril chain, because it is as light as a feather and sturty as Brenour. |

My favorite weapon would have to be Drizzt's Scimitars or a nice sturdy battle ax. All my friends say I'd make a better Dwarf than Drow but I like both so somewhere in my head is a Dwarf. My favorite armor would have to be Mithril Chain Mail. I can't stand armor that is heavier than that because it seems too bulky. |

My favorite weapons would to be either a battle axe or a war hammer to me they are perfect for a huge human fighter to be they define raw power especially when using one in each hand. I think full plate mail would be good for a big tough fighter like the one that would use the axe and hammer |

Longsword is the most versitile in that you're likely to find more magical longswords than anything else, but that's meta-gaming.
In 1e, the falchion from Unearthed Arcana would be my favorite, assuming you used the 1e weapon AC adjustments.
I can tell you what the stupidest 1e/2e weapon is: the bastard sword.
In 3e, the bastard sword is actually a good weapon.
Favorite armor woud studded leather. A good compromise between leather and heavier metal armors. |

Book? i don't know what book you are talking about. i am using a fighter in dungons and dragons that uses those weapons, altohugh they are not used very well. The only book i can think of that has a big human fighter using a hammer is The Icewind Dale triology and my fighter in Dungons and Dragons does not look like him. |

This was already covered in another topic, but. WTH....
Favorite weapons Long Sword of King Gildamere A long sword of Demon Slaying +7, +10 vs. ANY Abyssal creature. Will automatically give 2 attacks/round. This is cumulative if wielder is hasted and/or specialized in the long sword. (normal attacks 3/2, now 5/2, hasted 5/1) If within 40' of any Abyssal creature and NOT being wielded, it will fly from the owners scabbard and attack as a 'Sword of Dancing' for 2 at/round. To grasp the sword while in this state, an attack roll must be made vs. AC 1. The sword will also point in the direction of any Abyssal creature within 300'. The wielder will feel a strong 'tug' from the sword in the direction of the creature. Wielder is immune to all forms of cold and electricity and all non-magical forms of fire. Will heal wielder to full hits every 10 rounds unless they are at 7 or more hits below 0. It is imbedded with 3, 10 carat gems which give the wielder the immunity to the elements. Sapphire – Cold, Ruby – Fire, Diamond - Electricity The sword is good aligned and only the good aligned may wield it.
+9 long sword of golden adamantine - taken from the cold dead hands of a succubi. both because they are just soooo bada** and compliment each other so well.
Favorite armor Mithril Elven chain +2 because it is completely non-encumbering and I'm able to cast spells while wearing it. |

My favourite weapon has to be....
FOEBANE FROM MYTH DRANNOR. AND STORMBRINGER OF COURSE.
Hmmmm. One thing I always hated about 1/2e (though I like the systems) is the weapon damage. They make NO SENSE. Why should a long sword do 1d12 to a large creature? The damage was so randomly arbitrary it drove me nuts. I liked the warhammer fantasy roleplay damage system. All one handed edged do 1d6. I really wish they would go back to that system. After fighting heavy weapons in the SCA, I have come to realize a sword, is a mace, is a hammer. Where the damage SHOULD differ is in what armour the oponent is wearing, i.e. Mace does extra against armoured, etc.
Oh boy I am ranting, and I have work to prepare for tomorrow.
Sorry.

"The new games"? Do you mean new computer games or new rules supplements for PnP?
Entreri's dagger is described in the 3e campaign book (I don't recall exactly what it says). In the 2e "Villain's Lorebook" it's described as a +4 defending dagger with life-stealing abilities. |
