I was wondering,

1- if any of the adventuring sages had knowledge of or experiences with Lonely Tower in the Cold Woods just north of the Silver Marches. I can hardly locate the tower through rumors except those supplied by the Crazed Venturers.

2- if any of the sages had heard about or studied the Haunting Halls of Evening stars in Cormyr. I have heard that the Hall of Morning accomodates explorers of that area.

Well actually I played the Adventure The Haunted Halls of Eveningstar once upon a time. All though I seem to recall our group, or at least my mage, took a heavy hit from a green slime and died quite early in that adventure. Since he didn't get enough time to scrape it of, so it was just of to roll up a new PC. I still have the module lying around. What particular info are you interested about concerning the halls?

Regarding the Lonely Tower a few lines can be found in The Savage Frontier and The North accessories. They mention that its owner (don't know if is the current owner though)is an archmage named Ssessibil Ishtavar (M 27 [2ed rules])from another world, who rules the tower with a group of orcs and an elemental being as guards.

I was wondering about the "mages regal" who seem to have used (maybe still do use) the halls of eveningstar. They seem, based on their description by Brimbelve Gabror, an experienced adventurer, to be a group of mages focused on political intrigue and subtle manipulations in politics. They also are supposedly active in portal maintenance, magic and creation and they might know spells that enhance the functioning of and detection of portals. This is all described on pg 295 of the Campaign setting. I was wondering if they had any affiliation to the Royal Mages of Cormyr where eveningstar is located, or other clues as to their curious origin.

in regards to lonely tower. I didnt know that it was desribed in those places but should have assumed so.. the archmage Ssessibil Ishtavar is not its original owner. The crazed venturers from waterdeep cleared it out and he is the present occupier. (In the campaign setting it says that the present occupier has orc and elemental guardians) His name however (thankyou for suplying it) seems almost serpentine which reminds of a theory I have regardingthe original tower creators.

Hmm, I have to say I didn't find any info about the Mages Regal aside of what can be found in the FRCS. Perhaps you could post the question to the Hooded One. Seeing as she adventured there as a Knight of Myth Drannor and Ed wrote the whole place up.

In the air room, a pool of silvery liquid (like mercury) acts as a gate that Ssessibil uses to travel to and from
his true home on an alternate world (where most normally nonsentient creatures are intelligent and cast spells of low level).
The predominant life form is a giant catlike reptilian biped#151; Ssessibil#146;s true form. So yes he would be serpentine(ish) in some strange way. Don't know what race he belongs to though.
