For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Ah, it's about time we get the web enchancement for City of Splendors... But I was hoping for more than just a list of nobles. Ah, well. |

I'm a little puzzled. I think this is 1 of 2 web enhancements.
FWIW, if you don't have the old stuff, this should give you the complete list of nobles. If you do have the old stuff and you carefully compare the changes, you can guess at a lot of plot points.

I snagged that for you Eric and posted it in the new thread on the wotc boards. |

If that's what is going to happen, then neato .

Here's a thought... I wonder why the WE wasn't printed on the regular FR parchment style? Most of the other previous WE are.
Oh, and the file size is incorrect. 'Tis nowhere near 2MB. It falls just under 400kB.

Yeah, I noted that, too. Maybe there was going to be more and they made a last minute decision to split it? |

That's odd for them to do that... But it gives me hope! |

Well, they have done separate web enhancements for products before. I did wonder about the "core" background for the WE as well. Was the rest of the supplement suppose to be about Daggerford? |

The rest of the Waterdeep WE should detail the Waterdeep region. This region is adjacent to but does not include Daggerford.

Does it include something on a wizard's secret stronghold in mount Mount Helimbrar ?
Or something about the little community of Rassalantar ? |

So something like the old FR1 Waterdeep and the North book from 1E then? But only more focused on the area directly around Waterdeep, right? |

Focused on the area defined as the "Waterdeep region" in the FRCS.
More like the article "Environs of Waterdeep" in Dungeon #127 or #128 (I can never remember), but with lots of new stuff added.

'Twas on pages 8 thru 14 of Dragon 128. And that included a map and two full-page ads, so it wasn't a lot of material. |

An acknowledgement that it exists and a few hints on what's there, but not much.

Yes.
In general, there's not going to be a lot more new info on the places that have already been detailed in Dungeon #128 or the "nearby places" section of FR1 or CoS. There are new locations though (either truly new or hinted at in an obscure bit of Realmslore and now flushed out) for those with all the old material.

The info about the Dark Enchanter could not be more welcome !
I was trying to link him (the PCs met him earlier) to current events of my campaign : the PCs trying to put oil on the fire between the Unseen and the agents of the Eye.
And I got something even more interesting, those half-steel dragon Unseen hunters.. my PCs being evil and "hired agents" of the Shadows thieves, I got here some very exciting rp possibilites |
