I hope that this is the appropiate spot to discuss, or maybe, speculate about the birth date and age of Randal Morn. Otherwise, maybe Alaundo could be so kind to place this topic were it belongs ... and I hope not in the paperbasket :)
I wrote the following, in my home page:
"Randal Morn is the ruler of Daggerdale. He can have been born as early as 1300 DR. This would mean that he is venerable, year 1371 DR, according to PHB rules. In the novel Finder's Bane, he is decribed as an "older man with with handsome features, long brown hair combed down his back, and a neatly cropped beard". The novel takes place 1368 DR, and that would mean that he was old, according to PHB rules. Thus age and birth date, with regard to rules, novels, and adventures, could be justified."

I did not write my ideas of Randal's birth date, in the above post, but, I guess that Randal Morn could have been born 1300 DR.
1300 DR -- Randal Morn is born 1316 DR -- Teshendale is attacked. The young Randal starts his adventures ... 1336 DR -- Daggerdale is overruned by the Zhents. 1366 DR -- Doom of Daggerdale 1368 DR -- Finder's Bane 1369 DR -- The Return of Randal Morn

Well met
The paperbasket?! Oh certainly not, webmanus. Thy pennings of Realmslore are greatly treasured
Interesting indeed, I have a long-standing love for Daggerdale.
..and with Finder's Bane, the events which feature the discovering of Shraevyn's Tomb then open up for The Sword of the Dales, and subsequently The Secret of Spiderhaunt.
However, I don't believe there is much information on Randal Morn in these modules. |

Great!
I could mention that, when I was going to DM The Sword of the Dales, I forgot to bring with me the adventure to the game session. And, The Secret of Spiderhaunt Wood, I never managed to buy it. And, when it was time to play The Return of Randal Morn, I could not find the adventure. So, we played without it.
I assume that I must be the worst DM But I love Daggerdale and Shadowdale. I will recheck to see if there are some helpful descriptions of R.M. in the adventures ... they are pretty old ... |
