Greetings

I have been playing D&D since 1982, and I fell in love with the forgotten realms with the original gray box set. In those days, I was a prolific game, but during my college years in the early 90's I fell away from the game a bit (but still managed to attend four gen-cons during that time).

Well, recently, an old gaming buddy of mine convinced me that my son is now old enough to play so recently I started playing again. What amazes me is how much internet resources enrich the gaming experience! When I started playing again, I did some research on the 'net to reaquaint myself with what was going on with the realms. I'm absolutely floored!

Not to ramble on, my current campaign is set back before the Time of Troubles (I'd hate for my boy to miss out on that! ) Currently, we are playing through Lashan's failed conquest of the dales.

Anyway, this seemed like a cool and friendly place so I thought I'd pop in and introduce myself.

Let me just say, "Pleased to me ya" in advance.

Study hard. Be evil.

Welcome, may you find useful information here and enjoy your visits here.

"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards."
"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

Welcome indeed, Imrahil. You'll find Candlekeep a warm, friendly place where the greatest concentration of card-carrying FR loremasters like to spend their time. As they say, ask and ye shall receive, so if you have any queries please don't hesitate - it'll likely be a stampede as to who can help you out first.
