Hmm I wonder if the NPCs will be a bit more interesting
I found the NWN1 NPCs to be a little flat compared to the what Id come to expect from the makers of the BG series. Im currently play KOTOR2 and it looks like theyve gone back to putting a bit more effort into fleshing out the NPCs, so maybe they will do the same with NWN2 |

I certainly hope so.
The good news is that Bioware info on their next rgp Dragon Age repeatedly mention BGII and the single-player experience as well as the more recent NWN. Maybe I'm reading to much into it, but I hope this means more interesting npcs. |

I worry about it being too linear. I played KOTOR2 and it felt like I was on rails quite a bit. Also KOTOR2 had a terrible ending that seemed to just sort of drop off. Though that could be because the game was developed for pc and xbox at the same time. They have a lot more time on this game so I expect a bit more. |

KOTOR2 suffers from "Its not finished but the publisher wants it out there now Syndrome"
You'll notce theres a couple of clickable doors on Nar Shada that cant be open. theres also suppose to be a HK droid factory in KOTOR2 but it was taken out because oit was never finished HK47 drops alot of hints about it in his dialoge.
Game Publishers have alot to answer for when it comes to incomplete games |

Knight Of The Old Republic 2: The sith Lords was developed by Obsidian, the same guys that are developing NWN2. The first game was pretty good and I don't regret playing the second one despite it's problems. You might want to pick it if you like Star Wars and Crpg's. |

Hmmm, I don't see any Old Republic knights of the Realms here, but thank ye Weiser_Cain.
Remember, this IS a Forgotten Realms library Let's keep the discussions in this scroll to NWN2. Thank ye. |

Unlike stocks pass performance of a developer can be used as a fairly reliable predictor of future performance, making my post(mostly) on topic. |

Indeed. But let's talk about NWN2. A mere mention of KOTOR can spark all manner of discussions on that particular game....which is irrelevent to the Realms |

Does anyone know how far in development NWN2 actually is? All I've seen so far is artwork of some of the creatures. It's not an imminant release, is it? I still have the first one to work through. |

Ah good. Plenty of time then. I'm only getting the 4th Waterhavian creature at the moment, although I'm finding the game quiet repetative. The main reason I play it is for the Lore. |

What lore?
I'd advise you to skip the OC and go straight to HotU. |

The tomes, journals and letters you find about the Realms. The way the famous locations look etc. This is based on my rather limited knowledge of the Realms, mind.
By the way, what's the OC? |

As for locations... I'd not base my view on how they look on NWN, for one thing the cities are too small (for gameplay reasons).
And while the books, and such are okay, if you get the FRCS you'll pretty much have it all and a lot more in there.
And OC is an american TV-show in the same tradition as Beverly Hills 01920 (or whatever the zip-code was, can't remember exactly), Melrose Place or Dawson's Creek. Right?
Actually it's short for Official or Original (I've seen both) Campaign, the modules that came with the original NWN-set. |

Eh, I don't think those things are worth trudging through the mediocrity that is the first OC, which is why I asked, "What lore?" (In the sense of, what worthwhile lore is there?) If you want to go through them that badly, just open the toolset and browse the item descriptions. |
