I have been a DM for about 2 years and my players and I seperated when we went to college. I found articles about PBeM and online playing suplements. Could someone point me in the right direction, the only ones I have been able to find are things you have to pay for or you need to know programing to run.
Also I was going to start a mercenary company for my FR game. DO you think this would be ok or should I look through mercenary companies that are already in existance. My players say they want to eventualy have their own mercenary complany and I thought it would be funner if it was one I had built so they could work their way up the chain of comand.

I'd make up my own company so that way you can specalize it and tweak it to fit the game. :)
As for online programs or the like there is a play by post board that's free:

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

I think that sounds more than okay. You might want to investigate some present companies for ideas. But, from what you described, creating your own organization appears to be a sound way to go. |

I really like this idea. Working your way up the ladder of a mercenary group would be a really interesting game. Are there any mentions of specific groups in the North? |

There was a 2E book dedicated to mercenaries... FR15 Gold & Glory.
I almost mentioned another "mercs" book that the Sage and I are familiar with, but it's another setting and genre. |
