Champions of Valor. Hee hee! That'll bring Realms releases (not counting adventures) up to the promised 4 for 2005. After 3 a year for the last several years (as in, since 3E started).
As for Magic of Incarnum, my guess is that it's the next book in the "Magic Series" that kicks off with Weapons of Legacy. In fact, most of the upcoming general D&D books seem to fit into one of the following series of books:
Genre Series (Heroes of Battle, Heroes of Horror) Magic Series (Weapons of Legacy, Magic of Incarnum, Spell Compendium) Environment Series (Frostburn, Sandstorm, Stormwrack-formerly known as Maelstrom) Race Series (Races of Stone, Races of Destiny, Races of the Wild, Races of Eberron) Fantastic Locations (Fane of the Drow, Hellspike Prison, whatever these are supposed to be)
Everything else is either setting-specific (FRR being Forgotten Realms releases, EBR being Eberron), or it's a general "Rules Supplement" (Dungeon Master Guide II being the only new one of those I can see).
Whee! |

Well the link says more details might be forthcoming. I doubt much more individual product information will be included, but one can hope. At least some writers can perhaps start to comment more in detail about certain products now that they have been announced. |

There certainly is some shuffling among the releases. Note the "Fighters":
Master of Chains: Fighters #1 - 9/2 Ghostwalker: Fighters #2 - 12/2
I'm missing Ed's new novel ("Swords of Eveningstar"), too. |

Except that the books haven't been announced. A book isn't "announced" until it appears in a public catalog from WotC, which might come as late as May or June.

I'm fairly certain that Swords of Eveningstar (whatever it's final title will be) doesn't yet have a release date, and when it does, it'll likely be some time in 2006. |

Champions of Valor! That excites me! I wasn't expecting the companion book to Champions of Ruin until 2006!
Also the Sons of Gruumsh: FR Adventure Path #1 looks very intriguing.
And several other products jump out at me too. What a promising line-up! Looks like WotC will be earning a good $30-$60 dollars a month from me through the end of the year! |

I'm pretty sure it can be characterised as a companion book to Lords of Darkness (II), not Champions of Ruin.

The Elven Exiles, if it is dlance, is probably about the Qualinesti (sp?), sorry I could never spell the elven names for dlance, since thier homeland is buried under a lake now.
As for the FR stuff, well I'll buy it all unless it's reprints. :) I also tend to buy all the core material as well. |

Well, that would be okay too! I know I will enjoy it greatly all the same.
Although with a name like "Champions of Valor" it would seem to break the symmetry if it is not a complement to "Champions of Ruin." |

Excellent!! Thanks for the info Sirius. It still amazes me how other sites get this information out before WotC do....long before they do in fact.
I'm SO happy to see the mention of the first FR adventure. I hope that it sells well and that they continue this. Remember everyone, this is like a second chance for FR adventures. I urge fans to buy t his module to show WotC that we DO want FR modules, else they'll likely stop them after this run if it doesn't sell
So the Elven Exiles is believed to be Dragonlance? |

I'm a FR whore. I'll buy it anyways if it's FR material. :)
And I believe that title makes the most sense as a dlance novel. |

Going just by the titles (many of which, this is the first time I've seen them), here's the stuff I will buy or at least look at:
D&D Races of Eberron - 4/8 FRR Champions of Ruin - 5/13 Realms of the Dragons II: The Young Dragons - 5/6 Elminster's Daughter - 6/10 Maiden of Pain: Priests #4 - 6/10 Servant of the Shard - 6/10 D&D Weapons of Legacy - 7/8 FRR City of Splendors:Waterdeep - 7/8 Best of the Realms: Ed Greenwood - 7/1 Farthest Reach: The Last Mythal #2 - 7/1 Annihilation: War of the Spider Queen #5 - 8/5 The Emerald Sceptre:Scions of Arrabar #3 - 8/5 City of Splendors: A Waterdeep Novel - 8/12 d20 Cyberspace - 9/9 FRR Sons of Gruumsh: FR Adventure Path #1 - 9/9 Queen of the Depths: Priests #3 - 9/2 Master of Chains: Fighters #1 - 9/2 Starlight and Shadows Gift Set - 9/2 The Two Swords:: The Hunter's Blades #3 - 9/2 Paths of Darkness - 9/2 Promise the Witch King - 10/14 FRR Champions of Valor - 11/4 Midnight's Mask: Erevis Cale Book III - 11/4 Whisper of Waves: The FRB:Watercourse Trilogy Book 1 - 11/4 Star Wars AT-AT Imperial Walker - 11/11 D&D Spell Compendium - 12/2 Ghostwalker: Fighters #2 - 12/2
8 July is the magical day... Anyone between me and the Waterdeep book is risking their life.
I'm surprised, though, to see that the novel doesn't come out for another month. I'm also surprised to see that book 4 of the Priests series comes out 3 months before book 3...

Well, I think there is a general problem with FR adventures and it is that utility and adaptability are more important that in-depth realmslore and setting material. WotC (naturally) want to increase sales by having non-FR fans buy this to use in their homebrew campaigns or adapt to other published gameworlds.
The more in-depth FR material included, the less chance there is that non-FR fans will purchase it. I have a shelf full of published FR adventures dating back to the 90s. Most of them are pretty average when it comes to giving setting detail, and I can't help think that it would be better for someone to buy DUNGEON and adapt the adventures there for FR, than to have a wishy washy adventure with the FR logo slapped on it to generate sales.
I'll be very, very pleased to eat humble pie if the adventure on the schedule is chock full of realmslore, adds to and enhances the setting and is fun to play as well. I guess we'll all have to wait and see. One thing I do know however, is that if WotC have pumped resources into this FR adventure (and it turns out to be a generic one with a few scattered FR references thrown in ala Robert Wiese's articles on the FR website), then I'll both be disappointed with the product and with the waste of time and effort that could have been used for, say, another regional product.
Like I said, please, please prove me wrong.

WOTC has much more important things to do than providing customers with information.

No disrespect to anyone who feels otherwise. However, I'm not simply going to buy a module just to ensure WOTC continues to publish FR adventures. If WOTC wants me to purchase this adventure, make it much better in quality than the last FR adventure which was a big disappointment to this FR fan. |

Yes, I've heard this logic before and understand the rationale. Here's my big moment.
City of the Spider Queen was lite on Realms lore and to me designed as very adaptable to a generic campaign in which characters would partake in a mega Underdark adventure.
So, sales should have been high rather than if it had been an FR adventure filled with lore which would have been difficult for non-Realms campaigns to use.
But, sales apparently weren't great because after that, all adventures cease til this year.
So, what's the deal then? Are we going with the same logic again? Or are we trying something new?

What's that old saying, prepare for the worst, hope for the best. I am of that mindset when it comes to this adventure. Have we got a name for the author yet? |

No, you've spelt it right .
However, it is commonly believed that this trilogy will deal with the Silvanesti rather than their cousins in the west... detailing the events of the Chosen race of Krynn after the invasion of their homelands by the minotaur empire.

And I believe that title makes the most sense as a dlance novel.
And I am a devotee of DL, although since I see Big Al beginning the necessary physical gestures required for a certainly painful spell, I'll simply finish this divergence and maintain that this is all still speculative.
