Well met fellow Scribes,
I've been searching around for some spells to aid in any sort of constructive endeavour, say, castle- or bridgebuilding - or even mere cottages. Wall of Iron and Wall of Stone would be examples of useful spells here.
Mayhaps any of you know of more such dweomers? :)

There's a few new spells in the generic 3e book entitled "Stronghold Builder's Guidebook."

Dont forget the obvious. Just because you summon a creature it doen't have to just be for a fight. And think of how much work an earth elemental can do! |

Hmm a few others.
Bull’s Strength (stronger able to move more material) Bull’s Strength, Mass (for same reason) The Charm spellss (recuiting more workers) Continual Flame (To provide light sources when working in the dark) Disintegrate (To do some excuvation) Fabricate (converting material into more useable forms) Floating Disk ( material transport) Ironwood ( To have much stronger wood, reduce fire risks) the Wish spells along with Miracle (wish for part or all of constuction) the Creation spells (make itens) Plant Growth ( Grow materials faster) Polymorph Any Object ( Change things into desired things) Mud to Stone ( Building material, the metal to wood not too useful and stone to mud is more deconstuction).
There certainly are a few others that might situationally be useful as well. Part water might be useful in certain constuction phases for wxample. This ofcourse does not include and magical wards that might be desired to be part of the final structure.

But used correctly, stone to mud could be used in construction. You could use it to make many smaller stones into a seamless rock wall, or use it to fill in gaps in stone... |

Thank ye all... I suppose I need to get my hands onto this Stronghold Builder's Guidebook... Most of the regular PHB spells I have already employed for various construction uses, albeit not all of them. I totally neglected Ironwood, for example - I need to grab a druid, somehow :P |

Don't forget wall of stone. Duration: permanent. Which just so happens to be the same duration you typically want your castle to be.
Also, don't forget Mordekainen's (or Mage's) Magificent Mansion. You could concievably make that applicable to a permanency spell, and then basically save on space inside your castle. |

iirc, you can dispel a wall of stone (or iron). not exactly the thing you want to happen to your castle´s wall! |

As a matter of fact, both Wall of Stone and Wall of Iron are of "Instantaneuous" duration, and thus both permament and not subject to dispelling... :P |

Unless you get it counterspelled, but if you have someone counterspelling your castle while you build it you have other problems . . . |

i know a spell called "leomund's (something)" that will give you a instant house throughout the night.....
errr...mmm... and i am looking for the one who is responsible of this spell. now the PCs cannot be ambushed by a few smugglers etc.
ovv... it just kills all the roleplay action, and i know that i really should have said "no there is not such spell in any mage shop throughout the Swordcoast" at the first place but still i am not the one who thinks that this spell is needless, am i |

That'd be Leomund :P
Actually, you could always have some ethereal filchers or similar extraplanar beings infiltrate the thing and steal on your players... I'd only use this VERY rarely though :) |
