Eek! Stay your pointy swords, heroes! I mean no harm.

I've been reading this forum from the shadows, sneaking in when I see that the torch light snuffed out. A fine library! Much to see and enough knowledge in these halls for several lifetimes.

I am an old kobold from the hallowed pages of the first monster manual. My adventure days are far past, though I find myself enjoying these Realms from afar, reading the adventures of others in their dusty tomes and yellowing scrolls.

Recently these old bones have had an itch to return to the land of my many adventures. I am told this might be a symptom of my age, having lived far longer than most of my kind. A fact I credit to my remarkable ability to read. I prefer to have my snout buried in a book to the raiding of halfling villages any day.

This is what has drawn me to your library. Yes, word of the great library of Candlekeep has reached even the deepths of my humble kobold warren. Fear not, I shall leave no book out of place and smudge no scroll. I'll even dust on the weekends.

Just do my a favor and watch your step!

---

Ok, don't worry about me ever slipping into that persona again.

I have recently entered these Realms once again, having been coaxed into reading the Avatar Series. I found the books interesting enough, but as days past I wanted to learn more about the land of Toril. As much as I enjoy the books, I am awed by the rich world that Ed Greenwood and his fellow authors have brought to life. The way the entire world is brought to life through the supplements offers readers so much more than any other fantasy I have encountered.

I have read a few of the novels in the past, and even though I haven't played in ages (1st and 2nd edition), I have fond memories.

I've enjoyed the discussion I've seen in this forum. I've been reading posts for a few weeks and figured I might have some insight to offer or perhaps questions of my own so why not jump in?

Quite a collection on the front page, I might add. Plenty of excellent material to wade through. Thank you and see you around.

Welcome, please enjoy the scrolls.

Indeed there is much to read and I hope that you will be able when ready to add to the scrolls.

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!
