Currently i'am playing an FR campaign. Our adventuring group (2nd level) sailed towards Raven's Bluff on a magic driven ship (don't ask me how we've got such ship it's a long story). Well when we approached Ravens Bluff shore a thayan galley attacked us (a thayan ship - 5 miles from Raven's Bluff port). We sailed towards the shore but thayans sunk our ship, fortunately we've managed to board their ship and kill everyone except thayan wizard (he escaped via teleport and blew up the ship). Now we are standing on the shore, alive but all our loot (no less than 15000gp) sank half a mile from Raven's Bluff shore.
The first question is: what is the best way to recover our loot? The second is: what to do and what not to do in the Raven's Bluff. (I've never played in The Vast region, so i know virtually nothing about it) And how a thayan ship can attack us near Raven's Bluff? i've never heard that this region is controlled by thayans

1) How long can you hold your breath?
2) There is actually 4 supplements for Raven's Bluff...
Gateway to Ravens Bluff, The Living City Inside Ravens Bluff, The Living City Port of Ravens Bluff The City of Ravens Bluff
The last of those four is pretty comprehensive, as I recall. I don't have the other three.
3) The Thayans don't control that area... I think that your DM was trying to separate the party from its wealth.

My bad, Big Al. I glanced at the list on this page, found the ones I listed, and didn't think to look further down the list.

Thanks, i know about this books. But they are 2ed, and according to 3ed FRCS Ravens Bluff has been destroyed and then rebuilt. So, i'am most interested in this new RB. |

It says "nearly destroyed"... And I believe that that happened before The City of Ravens Bluff was published, which means it's still good.

Okay, I just checked The City of Ravens Bluff, which I didn't have time to do before work.
The book was published just months after the final battle with Myrkessa Jelan's forces (in 1370). A quick glance at the history makes it look like all of the fighting happened outside of the city, and I didn't see any references to rebuilding anything within the city's walls. Outside the walls, everything was trashed, but inside, all is reasonable intact.
So that source is still a good one, since it'll be a while before WotC gets around to updating that corner of the Realms. |

How to get loot... What classes you got, it might help to know. I am skilled at using loop holes to piss off DMs (Most of it comes from being a DM and getting pissed off lol) Some simple Ideas 1) Have a druid or someone else who can speak to animals get sea creatures to assist you 2) Have the druid or wizard summon a creature that can go donw and get it 3) have them go tot he nearest town and pay for assistance(as a DM I would make it about half of whats down there, some money is better than none,NOTE* do not give away the location before you have amde the deal or you will just get robbed. 4)Leave it there and place a ward or something over it so later(after your DM has forgoten about it) you can teleport back and grab it. |

I wonder if there's a vaccine for it or something? |

Regarding the TSR Archive site, he actually updated it today. While the listings haven't been updated in quite some time, you should note that 3rd Edition has its own section.
An invaluable resource, particularly for the classic material. |
