Don't know if this has been discussed.
Old Empires is dealing with well, old empires. The Serpent Kingdom focused on one aspect or group of species in the Realms that I think worked out quite nicely. I'd like for WoTC to continue this trend with a FR sourcebook on Fey. They were one of the creator races that sort of faded away in power much like the serpentfolk after all. I think it would make a great sourcebook with oodles of material. What say you?

Though I've an odd fascination with the fae, I'm not certain they've had enough of an impact on the Realms (or that there's still enough around) to rate their own sourcebook. |

I would like to second that motion, Elf-Friend! I would love to see a Sylvan Kingdoms book! Or if not a whole book then maybe a section of a book filled with lore on the other forgotten Creator Races, perhaps including the Batrachi & the Aeree or the Dragons (back when when Dragons ruled the Realms), or other ancient non-human kingdoms.
I would especially like to know about Faerun's ties to the Plane of Faerie and the Seelie & Unseelie courts, perhaps a little about the errant Sylvan pantheon, maybe see some new Fey races/creatures. Other questions that haunt me include: what are the Seldarine's ties to Faerie? How did the races of elves come to pass through Faerie into Faerun? And where did the elves originate and why did they leave there? I am sure there are some great things to be revealed about the Sylvan races!
This is a book I would dearly love to buy! |

Well, as a card-carrying member of the faerie, I would really like to see something done to make us more prominent in the Realms. We are a highly magical race, and as Faerūn is a highly magical realm, it's only logical that we should be more prominent and have a larger impact. Maybe in the upcoming Races of the Wild they'll give a better picture of us visitors from the Realm of Faerie. The best that's been done so far was a brief description of how we interact with the Elves of Evermeet in the supplement of the same name. Since then, nada.
Oh, and my friend Sylvanizard wants to say that he is very displeased at how the faerie dragons were (What did he call it? Oh, yeah.) nerfed for 3rd Ed to begin with. No more age categories? No more massive spellcasting? What's the deal? The ancient race of draconis incorrigibilitus requests, nay, demands that they be recognized as the movers and shakers they are! Why, if Queen Tyssaklera gets word of this insult, she'll have no choice but to..Thank you, Sylvanizard. I think you've made your point.
And on that note, does any have a good recipe for blackberry pie? Sylvanizard promises leniency to anyone that can help with this during the upcoming Rage of Faerie Dragons. I shudder at the thought of it. |

Bastion Press released a product about the fey by Bryon Wischstadt - one of the original lorelords of the Realms. He picked a lot of brains when writing it (Ed's included) and although not specifically linked to the Realms, much of it would no doubt be easily transportable.

Good book. :) I've had it for hmmm over a year or longer now.... Might be out of print though. |

Sylvan Kingdoms... hmm... that sounds... very... GOOD! (same abreviation than Serpent Kingdoms though, so we'd need something like SyK or even perhaps "Lands of the Fey" = "LotF")
I would vote that such a tome incorporate the LeShay as the fey creator race (LeShays are described in the Epic Level Handbook) |

So, is there anything in this tome that you could see as being easily adapted for the Realms? Could you provide some examples for those of us who don't have access to this book?

There's tons of npc's listed in it from rules of pixies to the rules of the Seelie and Unseelie courts, amongst others for centaurs and treants and other fey. Its mostly broken down by geographic locations that are shown on the huge in book map. Kinda hard to answer this less you have some specific questions. :) |

Yeah... sorry about that. The Fey are a rather expansive topic to discuss .
Okay then. What are some examples of these rules for the Unseelie court? I have my own system for the Seelie, so I really don't require anything on them.

Ah. Well, how about some brief info on the rulers for the Unseelie then? Or is it just a case of rehashing information that has been published elsewhere? Anything new?

Mostly they are the same except for those that are new but like I said there are tons of npc's in that book for many of the different fey races. Also they are not gods like they are in D&D. Titania, Oberon, some of the pixie, treant, etc deities that exist in D&D are in there but again they are not deities, they are a higher form of fey that is detailed in that book. There's just a lot to go through in it because it's about 100+ pages. |

Well I'm hoping that Realms of Elves has a game product tie in, meaning a 3E Elves book. I would personally hope that if they do this, they get everyone from novels to accessories involved in the book. |

Nope no divine rank because they are not deities. :) |

Well, the anthology is scheduled the same year that Richard Baker's trilogy finishes. And his first entry appears to show that it will take us up to if not into the Year of Risen ElfKin. Thus, I think you are right to expect some type of gaming tie in. |

Yes but how complete and how uncontraversal the product ends up being depends solely on HOW CAREFUL they are. If they just assign it to one of the game designers and he works willey nilley on it like Silver Marches, it could be a disaster as well as make certain unresolved issues from AD&D/TSR worse. |
