It´s a good idea to reprint older FR books. But I think it`s a better idea to ask the fans what series they think were the best.
I would like to see:
The Finder`s Stone Trilogy

Even though I have the original printing of that trilogy, I will agree with you. It's one of my fave FR trilogies.
I also agree that they should ask the fans what we want... And though they have been getting better with the products they offer us, I still recall being told about a year or so ago that fan input was not wanted. |

I would love to see Finder's Stone trilogy released again. In fact, as a quintet with Masquerades and Finder's Bane
I agree though that WotC should have put out a poll to see what we would want. I still can't understand why a minor series such as Twilight Giants got a rerelease. This leads me to believe that they will rerelease the complete FR novel range over time. |

Why just Finder's Bane? If you include that one, you should include Tymora's Luck, as well. |

Well I haven't read Tymora's Luck so was unsure as to how closely linked in with Finder's Bane it is. I believe it has Joel as one of the characters? How do you rate the book, Wooly? I may well be reading it soon if it's as good as Finder's Bane |

There's no way to get a representative response on the internet. The most reliable guide to the sales of these reprints are the original sales figures plus some of the same criteria that apply to new books. |

It's all the same characters, plus a kender (yes, a kender). I quite enjoyed the book; it's easily as good -- if not better -- than Finder's Bane.
But then again, I love the writing duo of Kate Novak and Jeff Grubb, and wish they'd write more Realms stuff.
As a minor note to add: Jasmine originally was introduced in the Forgotten Realms comic book, but then she left the Realms Master and wound up in the Spelljammer comic book. And not only did Jeff Grubb work on at least the FR comic, I believe he was also the writer of the Adventures in Arcane Space boxed set, the first Spelljammer release. |

OK, when they reprint The Finder`s Stone Trilogy, then they must reprint Masquerades, Finder's Bane and Tymora`s Luck, too.
It`s all a story about Finder. |

Um, Finder was not in Masquerades, and I don't think he even had much mention in there. That was another Alias & Dragonbait book. |

Yeah, reprinting some of the older novels would be great!!
Then I can catch up on reading some of the novels that were printed between '92-'02. |

As for me, I'd like to see them reprinting the Dragonwall Trilogy, along with Crusade. I feel stupid for missing them the first time, I had the books in plain sight.

Dragonwall trilogy? I assume you mean the Empires trilogy -- Horselords, Dragonwall, Crusade.
Of those three, I liked Crusade the best. I recently reread the trilogy, too, since I had nothing else to do that week I had no power due to Hurricane Frances. |

Yes, that's what I meant. Thanks for correction. I had forgotten the actual name of the trilogy.

Not a problem. I figured that posting the correct name of the trilogy, as well as the titles of the books, would help other scribes who might be interested in the older books. |

Did you know TSR brought him back. :) He's a ghost in Spellbound box set in the Throne of Deceit module. |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

I'll be glad for the reprints just for the new cover art. Some of those books from the late eighties and early nineties have some ridiculous artwork. The whole "I airbrushed armor over a picture of my neighbor's daughter with bad eighties hair" as the standard for fantasy cover art was a nightmare to me. I don't want Drizzt to like like somebody's cousin, who's been painted black and given a bad white wig. Sure, it was cool back then, but I was 16. Thank Gond for the great artwork that WOTC is producing now, especially Jeremy Jarvis and Wayne Reynolds. Just in case anyone has missed it, this is a great website:
http://www.pen-paper.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=albums.php
I haven't seen that the new artwork is any better than the old; in fact, in some cases, it's worse -- like the Avatar trilogy.
But then again, I still recall when much of TSR's artwork was by Larry Elmore, Clyde Caldwell, and Jeff Easley. It's hard to compare to those three, particularly Elmore. |

Well, if WotC is planning to rerelease all the old TSR FR novels, what would they do with The Harpers Series? They've already extracted all of the Elaine Cunningham books from The Harpers to make The Song and Swords Quintet and some Ed Greenwood books to make another trilogy, so what would they do? Do you think they would take out all the books that some authors wrote that are loosely tied-in to other series and just place them in there and thus make a whole new, much shorter Harpers Series?
This is all so confusing. |

It would make sense if they did... Especially with books like Masquerades. |

Even though Elaine's books were reprinted if you think about in in 2-3 years, if WOTC is still dealing with D&D hehe, Elaine's books will need another print run anway. So if they reprint the Harper series, as is, then the only extra book would be the last and it could be number that way.
However, that'll never happen unless their views on the Harper series has changed. The Harper series was abandon because they felt that the stories were too broken up or something like that. |
