I've begun work on converting the City of the Spider Queen adventure into a module for NWN and has come upon a rather annoying snag when building the NPCs. The Ghost Lady Quallem- Foremost you can't give anyone the Ghost-template in the toolset, and secondly she's described as having 8 classes of Aristocrat - does anyone have any suggestions as to what class(-es) I should give her instead? At the moment I'm leaning towards just making her a level 8 undead and see how that plays out.

That is an unholy amount of work. I can attest as I've done it up to level 4 of Castle Maerimydra.
Would you be interested in collaborating? I run Mossbourne, a large PW that's been online for almost 2 years. (Vault Hall of Fame no less).
Providing you are a mature talented builder, I could use the help finishing this, and you'd get a kick start of months of work.
Things that I need to finish are Maerimydra Castle levels 5,6,7, the Undying Temple, The Hidden and The Inverted Tower.
I'll be exanding on this module to make it suitable as a start point for Drow. Meaning I'll add more quests and stores for them to get equipment and stuff, and give low level characters things to do (besides beating up on heroes sent in by Randal Morn).
If you are interested and can build, you can play what I have on Mossbourne in "Story" to see if you like it. Start at http://ultramaxx.com for haks.
To answer your question, for most the untransferable (untranslatable?) stuff, I just left it off. I made The Ghost Lady Quallem undead. Then I gave her a fading in and out pulsing effect. Oh, she starts as a statue, then when a player approaches she animates and becomes ghostly, attacking the player. |

Thanks for your input bobcat.
Now I'll admit to it being an unholy amount of work, that's why I decided on trying it You see, I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to working with the toolset, although I've gotten fairly nifty at building nice-looking interior-areas if I'm allowed to say so myself. So starting something this big is to me a way to learn and improve my abilities in the Aurora-engine.
So while I'd love to collaborate at a later time when I'm finished with this (probably a month or two after they release NWN2) or has given it up due to the "unholy" amount of work it means, at the moment I'd have to say no.
Then again, I guess you've already figured out I wouldn't bring much to the project anyway, being good at placing lighting-placeables and playing with the tile-properties isn't exactly the most complicated part of building a mod
Still, thanks for offering, it's most appreciated. |
