I thought it might be a good idea (seeing as how we are all so wrapped up in our levels of "expertise") to post a sort of FR quiz forum...

I offer the following questions to start things out:

1) How many of "the Sisters" go by the name "Falconhand"?

2) What is Elminster's last name?

3) What body part did the Blackstaff's wife recently lose?

4) What plane do Bhargest Whelps come from? (try to answer without looking at the Monstrous Manual)

5) Name three of the Lords of Waterdeep.

If you can answer all five without cheating, a pearl to you!

My latest Realms-based short story, about a bard, a paladin of Lathander and the letter of the law, Debts Repaid. It takes place before the "shattering" and gives the bard Arion a last gasp before he plunges into the present.http://candlekeep.com/campaign/logs/log-debts.htm

Well Met

Nice quiz ArionElenim You must have read our minds! For a while now we have been toying with an idea to have an interactive quiz on the Candlekeep site, a list of questions, either with a text field to enter your answer or multiple choice tick-box answers (the latter option would enable your score to be returned immediately upon submission). You would receive a score at the end of the quiz and a title declaring what level of Realmslore Master you were and your name entered into a scoreboard

Whilst we have a fair selection of questions ourselves, following ArionElenims interesting questions, we invite everyone to submit their own questions to us (and answers! ). The limit for the number of questions sent in per person is 5.

Please send your questions and answers to the Candlekeep Webmaster.

ArcticKnight got them all correct first...well done, folks....

I am quite happy to hear about the quiz forums coming into being....the bad part is that I now have to admit to Alaundo that I WAS reading his mind....this pesky psionics thing won't let me sleep at night! The horror!

Actually, that event took place in Book 2 of the series, "The Siege."

Do I get a point for correcting the noble Knight who got all the other questions correct?

Bottom of page 293 and top of page 294 in "The Siege" if you want to go check yourself. That whole series is one big blur for me and not a good one. However, those comments are for another time.

Okay, I skipped over other people's answers, so I will try the test without knowing any of the answers.

1) 1-Dove Falconhand is the only Falconhand sister
2) Aumar
3) Laeral lost her arm
4) Gehanna? I'm not sure about this one
5) Khelban, Mirt, and Pergion

Ow, I cut my lip!

: : Glances at other members' scrolls () : :
Well, I'm just going to try my best without cheating:

1) Two that I know of
2) No idea
3) No idea
4) No idea
5) No idea

Have pity on me. I only got into the realms a few months ago.

Thanks, zemd. I've been trying to learn more about the Realms by reading the books, but I have only read about 18 so I don't know that much about them. : : Sits down and picks up a book to start reading ::

Hmmm Arctic Knight didnt win. He missed out on the question about the lords of waterdeep.
Khelben is not one of the lords of Waterdeep, was was, but he stepped down. I would pick Durnan instead of Khelben

A wise man from Calimport once told me: "If a merchant puts sand in the flask of oil he's trying to sell you, then he isn't trying to sell you sand..."

I'm giving it to Arctic Knight simply because I only asked for three of the lords of Waterdeep.....indeed, Khelben WAS a lord....besides, if we REALLY wanted to quibble, no one else was even half as close before he posted.

Again ArcticKnight, well done!

There there lil' taffer I was merely pointing out the minor flaw.

A wise man from Calimport once told me: "If a merchant puts sand in the flask of oil he's trying to sell you, then he isn't trying to sell you sand..."
