The hardcover book, Forgotten Realms Adventures, details specialty priests ... amongst other things.

No, TSR does not make books anymore. In fact, they do not even exist anymore. They were swallowed up and eaten alive by the Wizards who hail from the Coast.

However, speaking of TSR, is it true that Wizards of the Coast is going to come out with CD-ROMs of the TSR books (Player's Handbook, DUNGEON MASTER Guide, Monstrous Manual, Player's Handbook Refrence Books, DUNGEON MASTER Guide Reference Books, Monstrous Compendiums, Player's Option, DUNGEON MASTER Option, etc.)? I thought I heard somewhere that they were going to.

To expand on the answer of the Sarcastic Sage: Faiths & Avatars, Powers & Pantheons, and Demihuman Deities all have plenty of specialty priests to chose from.

Now, as for the TSR thing... TSR went out of business many years ago. They were bought out by Wizards of the Coast. WotC is the guys making everything now.

I don't know of anyone making 2nd edition products anymore, and I've heard nothing about this CD that was mentioned.

Quite right Wooly, TSR hit difficulties in 1997 (a terrible time, woe was I ) and was bought out by WotC. Now that turned out for the better eventually. Of course, Hasbro's purchase of WotC wasn't good at all Anyway, I wont dwell on this anymore.

As for the CDROM releases, this was talked about quite some time ago but later abandoned in favor of the PDF downloads which are available on the WotC site.

Just a word of caution for those downloading PDFs. The ones I got from the WOTC site were high quality. However, I purchased one PDF of an old 1st edition FR product and the quality of the scanning was very poor. Thus, if you do plan to make any PDF purchases, I'd try doing some research first to see what others think about the quality.

Warriors and Priests of the Realms is very much a secondary source, and doesn't gel too well with the far superior Faiths & Avatars, whose ESD is one of the earlier, good-quality ones.

Ditto. :) Someday the last 9 I need will be mine!

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

But less easy for those not living in North America. I have bought a few old PDFs and they've been fine, though I didn't check before. I was, however, recommended to the site, probably by a member of this very forum.

All good sources. My collection has been resurrected thanks to 'em all.
As to the question at hand... Faiths and Avatars, Powers and Pantheons, and Warriors and Priests of the Realms all have what you're looking for. The only CD releases I know of are the Core Rules 2.0 (and add-on), and the Dragon 0-255 (yea, 0 - includes the "pre-Dragon" Dragon mags, all 7 of 'em) archive.

well, most of those are already on a cd. if you get core rules2 and the cr2 expansion, it has all the main books right on em. none of the world stuff, but hey, at least the core stuff is there.

The kit books don't have specialty priest classes in them. They only have kits.

The cds that were mentioned are out. I bought a copy, just in time for 3E to come out a few months later.

As for WOTC "buying up" TSR, they did it out of love. All the guys who started WOTC used to play (or still did) DnD. TSR was going belly up and they rushed in to save it. Sure, it is a different company now and they have a different way to market things, but at least DnD is still around and seems to be thriving. Oh, then Hasbro went and bought WOTC, and things aren't as rosey as they used to be.

What is this Core Rules 2.0 CD that you guys are talking about and where would I be able to find it? Oh, and I apologize about my comments toward WoTC; they were uninformed and biased.

'Twas a CD-ROM that featured the 2E core rulebooks. It pops up on eBay from time to time, but be prepared to pay thru the nose for it.

No WoTC are OK, it's their parent corporation (HASBRO) that deserve a swift kick to the groin. Any bland toy-company that gobbles up the smaller games co.'s like the legendary Tarrasque has got to be no good in the long run as it stiffles creativity and competition but that's capitalism for you.
All they are are a bunch of faceless suits that are interested in their stock rising at any cost and couldn't give a toss about the fans or devotees of D&D, any old board games from Avalon Hill or PC games for that matter.
Sorry about the rant folks but if i could I'd burn their HQ to the ground, or like old Conan said
"Crush your enemies, drive them before you, hear the lamentations of their women!"

Over the centuries, mankind has tried many ways of combating the forces of evil...prayer, fasting, good works and so on.
Up until Doom, no one seemed to have thought about the double-barrel shotgun.

You tell 'em, Talwyn!!

::grabs pitchfork and trudges off towards the Hasbro empire::

Now, I loved TSR, I still even drink out of my TSR mug every day out of a deep embedded loyalty. However, they did release some trash in the latter years. WotC were the best thing that could have happened, however, being bought out by Hasbro hasn't filled me with confidence.

Hey, when money gets tight, people get desparate. WotC, being that they were plentiful in the capitol area had a much better chance of doing things. And Hasbro needs to die.

'Tis true. Two non-Realms examples of TSR releasing trash are Krynnspace and The Astromundi Cluster. I also thought that many of the Complete X Handbooks were utter rothé droppings.
