Heya, I'm a DM from a roleplaying-intensive NwN persistent world and I'm seeking information on any drow communities that might exist beneath the area our mod covers, which is the same as the Baldur's Gate (I) computer game. Here's the map: http://home.comcast.net/~jedikia/Server_Map/server_map.html I'm looking for canon material only.
It looks like Karsoluthiyl, located some 200 miles west of Baldur's Gate, falls just within our region. Both according to FRIA and the 3rd edition FRCS map, the far eastern edge of the Wood of Sharp Teeth is about 200 miles from Baldur's Gate. So I'm trying to find canon info on that city.
A Google search also turned up the following:
Muraunos is a city of the High Minotaurs located under the Sword Coast.
Shar'zan is a drow city of Shar worshippers, located under the Sword Coast.
but I have no idea whether these are canon, and if they are if they lie within the region our server area covers.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

the best source info on Karsoluthiyl is the old 2ed Skullport source book, one of the major drow factions in that city is from Karoluthiyl |

Yes, if I recall correctly, a member of the city's first house is leading one of the drow factions in Skullport.
The tome is available from RPGNow. |

There's impliciltly some info about an outpost of Karsoluthiyl in Ruins of Undermountain (specifically the drow on Level 2). See also the Dragon article by Steven Schend (#228 or thereabouts) discussing recent happenings in Skullport and either Undermountain: The Lost Level or Undermountain: Maddgoth's Castle (can't remember which one).

Thanks for the responses.
So is Karsoluthiyl something akin to an Underdark version of, say, Beregost? i.e., A center of trade way out in the Underdark boonies? Think it would be reasonable to make it about the same size as Beregost? |

Senior Scribe Lemernis,
The best source for Drow under the Sword Coast would be found in Underdark, the accessory.
Best regards,
