So, either he's able to wield a greatsword in one hand, OR he's found another sword on the surface after losing Splitter, OR Brom just said screw it and drew whatever he felt like drawing, OR Phil Athans forgot to e-mail Brom a simple description of Ryld, where he might have stated in italics, "Ryld wields a greatsword, something that is clutched in two hands, not one."
Is it just that Brom didn't do his homework, or what? Now, this isn't quite as annoying as seeing Drizzt drawn with identical scimitars, but it's certainly something to roll the eyes over. Jeez.

"That's right, hurl back views that force ye to think by name-calling - 'tis the grand old tradition, let it not down! Anything to keep from having to think, or - Mystra forfend - change thy own views!"
Narnra glowered at her father. "Just how am I to learn how to think? By being taught by you?"
"Some folk in the Realms would give their lives for the chance to learn at my feet," Elminster said mildly. "Several already have."

Yes, that's Ryld on the cover. I'm sorry you didn't like the artwork. |

Oftentimes artwork for a serial set of novels is ordered far in advance, Crust. It has nothing to do about "homework".
Perhaps the initial 'orders' did not have the proper description? Perhaps it isn't Ryld? The list goes on and on with possibilities. |

It's Ryld. Trust me, the events in the novel and the blurb from the jacket leave no doubt. |
