Okay, my next question:

This odd structure, found in Cormyr, was once the seat of the Kirinar noble family. What is this structure now called?

Oh, and a question about this challenge: are we sticking to just Faerūn, or is anything in Realmspace open?

I'd vote just sticking to Faerun. However, if others are more inclined to include all Realmspace (nice words), that would be fine too.

The Falling Tower.(Volo's Guide to Cormyr, page 93)

Yay, I finally got one!

Question: Name the most maneuverable vessel on the Inner Sea, and the wizard who is its master.

Wind's Despair captained by Quelzur Naismen (Pirates of the Sea of Fallen Stars page 77).

What is the name of the ancient book that speaks of a buried ruins in the High Moors, under which a long-forgotten goddess is buried.

I think I know this one, because I've long been tinkering with a plot idea around it... But a couple of us have kinda been dominating this challenge, and I'll be dipped if I can remember where the exact reference is. So I'll give someone else a shot. If it's not answered by the time I get home tonight, I'll dig thru my notes and find the source and page number.

Okay, I still don't know where I know this one from... And though I am fairly certain I am correct, I'll not post my next question until Sarta confirms my answer.

The name of the book is the Yielding Tide.

Sarta, if I am right, can you tell me where that reference is? After searching thru my notes for an hour, I could not find my long-ago scribbling, so I gave up.

I did actually see this one Wooly, but thought it might also apply to the bits of spelljammer left over from the Weeping War that became part of that green dragon's lair in Cormanthor. Before I could make a clarification query, I realised that I hadn't slept the previous night and pretty much collapsed at my keyboard.

Good question though - don't make 'em easy - make 'em hard!

Well, I don't want them to be so tough that only a few of us can answer them... At least, not all of the questions should be like that. It's more fun with more participants.

You got it. In terms of the reference, I pulled it from the rumors and events of Elminster's Ecologies for the Stonelands and Goblin Marches. It may also be referenced elsewhere, but I'm unaware of it.

The next question is in your hands.

Ahh, the joys of fatherhood. Grab sleep when and where you can. You'll have plenty of time to worry about realms lore at 4 am when you cannot sleep due to duty calling.

Ah, thank you. I thought it was one of the Elminster's Ecologies books, but I flipped through the High Moors one and saw nothing...

I'll go for a slightly easier one this time.

At what tavern will you have sprites as waiters and see a lizard man bartender?

It's Waterdeep's Misty Beard tavern (Volo's Guide to Waterdeep pp. 90-2). I am the masta of Realmslore!

OK,

The Chatelaine of the Tower of Ashaba is Aseel Tarnriver. But can you name Mourngrym's Underchatelaine?

Oh, OK. The Underchatelaine is Orlindea, featured in "Moonrise Over Myth Drannor", the Ed Greenwood short story published with the Eye of the Beholder III PC game. It's a nice story which I wish could be made more widely available.

You know, I've been thinking of re-reading that story, of late. I sort of permanently acquired that game book from a friend who had sort of permanently acquired it from another friend, who actually had the game... I think by now both of them have forgotten about it.

As for your current question... I'm stumped. I didn't flip thru all my Waterdhavian stuff, but I did hit the major sources, and I can't even find that Lane...

The one I had in mind was Dancing Darella, mentioned on 1996's Forgotten Realms Conspectus poster, along with Sharleene of Slop Street and Ilyth of the Gentle Tentacles.

'Nother!

Name at least one of the Thunder Peaks.

Perhaps to be a bit more fair to those that don't have huge libraries, we should stick to more mainstream stuff... I, personally, wouldn't have thought of looking at the Conspectus or at the Eye of the Beholder manual.

As for one of the Peaks, how's about the Blood Horn? 'Tis described on page 128 of the FRCS, and shown on the map on page 117, same book. Cult of the Dragon also mentions this one, on page 39, though that source called it the Bloodhorn.

So, is that one of the Peaks you're looking for? If so, what are the others, and where'd you find mention of them?

I thought I'd start with a couple of hard ones (though Orlindea is a pretty central point within that source).

Yup, that's one of the Thunder Peaks. Let's see what others people know: bonus points will be awarded.

There's also Hooknose Crag which I spotted on maps in the FR Atlas and Volo's guide to Cormyr.

Bonus points, eh?

Let's see, there are Helmturtle Peak (Volo's Guide to the Dalelands p. 160), Manymists Mountain (same book, p. 159), and Mount Thalagbror (p. 10).

Three's enough, methinks. To work with the rest of ye!

Okay, my newest question:

The farming village of Geniste used to lay beyond the southeastern expanse of Tethyr's Purple Hills. What destroyed all traces of this village?

Halaster's Higharvestide-specifically, a great flood of green slime.(Page 8 of Undermountain: Stardock, notes in Lands of Intrigue and Calimport.)

Does that mean that someone else can ask a question instead?

There's no chance I can answer faster than anyone else, but I'm sure I can find questions that should stump you all for a whole minute.
