... here's what I think the game would curtail
1) The game starts in one of the other Ten Towns not featured in the two previous games. My guess is likely Bremen, Bryn Shander, Caer-Dineval or Termalaine. It takes place in either the 14th or 15th century DR.
2) The main plot involves the theft of the Heartstone Gem from Kuldahar (which is starting to experience Winter-like climate again) by monsters who are eventually revealed to be serving a powerful demon. This fiend is using the gem's power of warmth to thaw out the frozen prison of Levistus, its mortal enemy. In doing so, the demon hopes to kill the Archdevil to end the grudge between the two of them, with no care for the collateral damage involved.
3) Isair and Madae may potentially get rescued from the plane of Limbo to help stop the main antagonist. It may be a chance for them to find redemption, or an evil-aligned party may intend to use and then double-cross them.
4) Locations I'd predict would be involved in the game:
- Dragon's Eye
- The Fields of Slaughter
- the ruins of the Severed Hand
- Dorn's Deep
- Limbo (as mentioned earlier)
- the main antagonist's home layer of the Abyss (likely in a failed attempted to cut the demon off before they can reach their objective, or taking the final fight with said demon after their attempt at killing Levistus fails)
- the plane of Stygia in Baator
5) The potential outcome? Obviously, the demon is defeated (and either banished or outright destroyed). Levistus may likely (and begrudgingly) return to his ice prison in Stygia. If Isair and Madae are involved, they either find the redemption they seek, get betrayed by the party or betray the party themselves. The Heartstone Gem is returned to Kuldahar, which experiences its trademark weather again and things return to normal. The party reports back to their starting location and are hailed as heroes. The end.
