Decided I should get back to my usual format for this and cover a monster type I forgot about. In the words of Lauri from the Hydraulic Press Channel, "So here we go!"
1) Paladin with levels of Sanctified Mind and/or Topaz Guardian from Lords of Madness. If the campaign primarily (if not exclusively) takes place underground, likely go with the Underdark Knight alternate class feature from Complete Champion and the Charging Smite substitution feature from PHB2. Racially, most likely to be Human, Aasimar, Shield Dwarf or Gold Dwarf, the latter especially if the campaign involves one of the dwarven kingdoms being threatened by aberrant denizens of the Underdark.
2) Ranger with Aberrations as primary Favored Enemy, possibly with levels in the Foe Hunter from Masters of the Wild centered around Aberrations, otherwise the Abolisher or the Darkrunner PrCs from Lords of Madness. Might also take the Darkstalker feat from the latter sourcebook or (if facing Mind Flayers) the Druuth Slayer feat from Champions of Valor.
3) Psychic Warrior with levels of the Illithid Slayer (Expanded Psionics Handbook) and/or Sanctified Mind (Lords of Madness), the former depending on if Mind Flayers are heavily involved.
4) Druid with levels in Abolisher. If taking place in the Underdark, ideal Animal Companions would be an animal comfortable underground, like (Dire) Badgers.
5) Bard with levels of the Keeper of the Cerulean Sign PrC and the Music of the Outer Spheres feat from Lords of Madness.
6) Wizard or Sorcerer with spells like Assay Spell Resistance (Spell Compendium) as well Invoke The Cerulean Sign and/or (if creatures capable of Antimagic Fields like Beholders are involved) Invoke Magic from (Lords of Madness). Investing in the Anti-Magic Field spell might not be a bad idea, particularly against Beholders.
That's what I can think of at the moment.

ray deflection (lvl 4 from Spell Compendium) could be useful
there's also repel aberration feat (Gatekeeper) from Eberron CS |

The former I have. The latter, I could never get myself invested in Eberron, honestly. I couldn't get into it at all and honestly, money was starting to get tight for me when that setting came out. |
