Well i think that Erevis Cale has captured many fans and will be a symbol of Realms fiction, in much the way that Drizzt Do'Urden etc. have.

Are there any D&D stats for Erevis? A little bell rings in my mind about character stats appearing in an issue of Dragon magazine when the Halls of Stormweather came out? Maybe even when each Sembia book came out? Im not sure, so if anyone can point me to them (if they do exist at all) then id be very grateful.

Thanks

Rad

Rad,

Cale and the rest of the Sembia heroes were written up in Dragon #273. Of course, that article described the characters as they existed in the Halls of Stormweather. As you know, Cale changed substantially in Shadow's Witness.

Another reader asked me previously to provide him with updated stats for Cale post-Shadow's Witness. I did that, and can provide that write-up to you if you like. Drop me a line at pskemp13@comcast.net and let me know.

Paul

Oops, I forgot to inform anyone following this post that Paul Kemp kindly submitted the Erevis Cale stats to us and were made available on the Candlekeep site. They can be found in the "Realmslore" section of "Alaundo's Library", the direct page link is:

I must say I enjoy the Sembia series of novels very much. The short story that appeared in Dragon mag (forgot the number) peaked my interest and I have bought all the books that have appeared so far.
The only (mildly) dissapointing novel was the last one: Heirs of Prophecy. To me it just didn't feel the same as the other novels in the series (which have less impact on a regional scale and are more personal).

IMO the series has added much to the Realms, indeed in a way Drizzt & co did in their time (and perhaps still do). Several characters have been portraid very realisticly within a fantasy setting. And untill recently they (mostly Cale) were kinda normal characters, no superhero types. The halfling companion of Cal was also nicely portrayed, and gave a good example of a cleric. (IMO a better cleric/priest example then Cadderly)
