Good evening everyone,
I've got a tough nut to crack here, largely due to practically a complete lack of helpful information to narrow down a product I am looking for.
I am looking for a water/ocean/sea/naval based accessory, that was I believe, a third party, D&D 3rd edition accessory. I unfortunately have absolutely zero more information: my apologies in advance. I just remember thinking to myself as I quickly thumbed through it about 6 - 7 years ago that it was absolutely brilliant. I just didn't get it at the time, and then remembered it several months later. By that time it was gone, and I could remember basically nothing about it.
Does anyone have any idea of a good place to look for such accessories for a 3.5/PF system? I am not narrowing anything down, and water based materials are my worst area of knowledge, etc.
I really appreciate any help in advance, especially with what appears to be a needle in a haystack!
Best regards,

Look up the Freeport stuff from Green Ronin. |

There was a D&D 3.x book called Stormwrack that covered a lot of that, I believe.
As for good places to look, once you know what you're looking for... DriveThruRPG.com has got a lot of stuff in pdf format, and it's all legal. For print copies, I generally go with eBay, myself -- though if you go that route, it can often require patience if you want something at a good price. (Sometimes being a bit creative helps, too -- I got a copy of the Elric/Cthulhu DDG in really good shape, for a really good price, by looking for a seller that didn't know he had the rare one).
Others have recommended NobleKnight.com. I've only ordered from them a handful of times, myself, but I have no complaints. With them, you have better odds of getting something in really good condition, but you'll pay more for it. |

Learned Scribe maransreth,
quote: I have Broadsides!, but havent used it in play. Another useful 3.5 underwater sourcebook is Mystic Eye Games The Deep - https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/286530/The-Deep.
That helps immensely! That is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you mightily.

Great Reader Ayrik,
Thank you for those links. I was really looking at the Of Ships and the Sea. I like the ship part of it of course, but I can't use those 2nd ed rules. Broadside however is awesome for it all. Great book. I am glad that it was brought back to my attention!

Great Reader Brimstone,
I looked into it. It seems that the Return to Freeport material is what discusses naval/underwater mechanics. Is that sounding correct to you?

Master Rupert,

Have you had good luck with that Stormwrack with naval game play? There are weather rules and what not I use from that (and other material), but I found the actual underwater and naval combat material to be clunky.

Yeah, good point there. I already got Broadside, and I am looking at others too. I'll look into nobleknight.com too. I appreciate the information.

Best regards,
Haven't actually looked at it. I didn't buy much of the 3.x stuff unless it was Realms-specific, and most of what I did have was lost in the fire. I've replaced what I wanted to, but if I had Stormwrack before, I didn't bother replacing it.
I was just tossing it out there because I remembered it was a potential resource. |

Master Rupert,
Well, I appreciate the thoughtfulness as always in providing your input.
On the other point: I truly commiserate regarding that fire. My god, that is terrible. My mother lost two homes to fire, and I know how devastating it was for her. I hope all is better or on its way to being, now days.

I didn't lose my home, thankfully. I'd moved out of my apartment, put everything in storage, and then the storage place was struck by lightning and burned to the ground.
As much as it sucked, though, and as much as I wish I could have saved even just a handful of particular items, there was good that came out of it, so I can't help but regard it as the proverbial blessing in disguise... One of those things you come out the other side stronger for having experienced. I'll never be happy that it happened, but it did work out well, in the end. |

Master Rupert,
Wow, that is crazy! Beshaba had it out for you that day.
Well, I'm glad for you that you did not lose your home. Simply awful for sure having seen what it was like for my mother twice. I am glad to hear that some good came out of it though, and that is very much a fantastic way to manage to work through that kind of disaster.
Best regards,
