I was looking through Amazon.com and I found a book called Elminster. I was wondering if this is legit, if there really is a book just called Elminster. Take a look via the link.

"Gereth Yaztromo is arguably the most famous wizard of Allansia due to his part in a number of the most well known sagas of that region from the third century AC. He is also known as one of the three Star Pupils of the Grand Wizard of Yore.."

Yeah I searched Google with the ISBN and I came up with a few sites that are promoting this book.

"Gereth Yaztromo is arguably the most famous wizard of Allansia due to his part in a number of the most well known sagas of that region from the third century AC. He is also known as one of the three Star Pupils of the Grand Wizard of Yore.."

How odd.
You can be reasonably certain it's not a book about the FR Elminster unless the author is Ed Greenwood and the publisher is Wizards of the Coast. If I'm not mistaken, Ed's next book about the character is entitled Elminster's Daughter.

It's a used book and it apparently originates with "Random House Value Pub" - I'd take a wild stab that it's maybe a book club edition of 1994's "Elminster: Making of a Mage" with the subtitle left off.

I'm inclined to agree. I believe it's a used copy of Making of a Mage, especially from the comment posted.

The ISBN would have changed with each printing, by the way.
