I'm was browsing the other day and wanted to grab a Fantasy novel, so I wandered over to the Fantasy section and was amazed at how many different Dragonlance anthologies there was. Could anyone help me out on where to start reading? I have no clue where to begin. Thanks.

Do you mean Dragonlance anthologies, or Dragonlance titles more generally? If the latter, anyone will tell you that the only place to start is the Chronicles, by Margaret Weis and Tracey Hickman. The first book is called Dragons of Autumn Twilight, followed by Dragons of Winter Night and Dragons of Spring Dawning.
After that, the Legends trilogy, starting with Time of the Twins and ending with Test of the Twins. From there you can pretty much take your pick. |

Easiest approach is to pick up Chronicles and go from there. As long as you're not dissuaded by its cheesy "LotR in D&D-speak" tone, read the much better Legends and never look back This link might help.
Ah yes, my first "proper" post on a Forgotten Realms forum in months and what am I talking about? DragonLance Sorry Alaundo, I'm not trying to lure your scribes away to work for Astinus, honest |

Such a mellow mood our Head Scribe is in today! I heard none of the usual references to plagues of locusts, beheadings, or starvation diets. Yet this new scribe so blatantly references a place outside of the Realms.
How unusual. I wonder if there might be anything in those old Prophecies of Doomsday about such an event . . . .

The Second Generation and Dragons of Summer Flame follow Dragons of Spring Dawning.

Read Legends before Summer Flame; it will make more sense. Oh, and you don't need to read the Second Generation-I haven't read it, and I did fine for Summer Flame.
Oh, and don't even attempt to read the War of Souls trilogy without having read all of the above first-and you'll also need a Bachelor's Degree in: Planar Structure and Theory and Divine Worship, Power, and Theory. Believe me. If you do get those, though-do pick it up-it's quite good.
