Hey all,

I'm in the final edit phase of the Gwaeron Windstrom and Rangers of the North compendium. I've collected and greatly expanded on the lore of Gwaeron Windstrom (and a little bit of Mielikki).

It's around 44 pages of just text (no layout, no graphics added yet) and it's similar structure to the Malar Compendium. There's a few sections of unedited/un-proofread by my editor, but the meat of the document is there.

This document leans much more heavily on expanded lore than established lore, since there's very little information on Gwaeron Windstrom or Gwaeronans. It's 90% lore and 10% 5e rules/items/etc.

As someone who nearly always plays as a ranger (mostly elvish, but sometimes human), this will be my companion piece to Malar's book.

If anyone wants a lore-check (or check if I forgot anything) my material before I get into layout phase, let me know and I can share my Google document with you. I'll send you the link via PM.

thanks,
Jim

I'm seriously looking forward to this, but honestly probably not the biggest sage, but if you want a second set of eyes, I volunteer my services. :)

I really enjoyed this! Rangers are one of my all time favorite classes, so this really is a great addition to my playing a Ranger in the North.

The Old Grey Box and AD&D for me!

Thanks! The Complete Ranger's Handbook was my D&D Bible when I was younger. I tried to capture a bit of that.

Just so you know, you had me at the price point. $1.99 for 40+ pages, even if I only flip through it and don't use it (not saying I won't), is something I'm willing to do for a product that I don't feel has gone through a corporate editing process (which truthfully may not be all that great, but I'm still going to trust WotC output to be vetted a little more). I equate it to what I might spend to read a magazine article in dragon back in the day. If this helps more people decide to buy it, great.

Hey, I was making a 3d drinking horn for something else entirely (because I keep using the same thing and I wanted something different), but thinking about your article had me make a few extras. I was also considering making, not a drinking horn, but a hunting horn, for Gwaeron. My only thoughts were to spell out his name in like Thorass or espruar on the rim and stick his holy symbol on it, but figured I'd throw out for ideas to make it different. Below's the stuff I made today. It include drinking horns based on Thor, Mielikki, Fenmarel and a generic "wolf" one.
