Today I shall begin a new campaign, the Waterdeep Adventurers Society, working similiar to a West Marches with several characters from a bigger pool getting together to run smaller adventures, as most of my friends and players have trouble following the schedule of a traditional campaign.
The content and adventure ideas avaiable for Waterdeep is staggering...but the more the merrier ! Do the sages have suggestions ?

The game is a bit like a West Marches, with no fixed group or plot, thus general ideas would be best.
So far I thought of things like being sent to retrive an item from the Blue Alley, helping the guard against the Xanathar vs Zentharim criminal war, looking for dungeons like undermountain, the crypt of chautea, the Dungeon of the Crypt and exploring nearby regions such as Leilon, Daggerford/Under Illefarn and the like. |

You don't really need to look for Undermountain...you can drop right in the Yawning Portal. Maybe connections to Skullport would be also a good adventure.
Right now my group is exploring the Mere of Dead Men which is another treasure trove of possible adventures if you need to get out of the city for a while.
Also do not overlook Ardeep Forest....lots of secrets there that I'm sure notable citizens of Waterdeep will be eager to hire adventurers to pursue. |
