The latest official D&D book set in the realms is out now:
Acquisitions Incorporated

Based on the podcast/live show/web series

With a new race in the realm Verdan, a mini adventure, new spells and backgrounds and details on the Acquisitions Incorporated corporate structure.

I just got it and currently reading up on it.

TLDR on the Verdan:

That-Which-Endures some kind of "eldritch old god lovecraftian" power of pure entropy swept threw a huge gobliniod settlement in the underdark and merged/mutated all living hobgoblins/bugbears/goblins into one race.

Meh. I'll look for it on the cheap, and only as a secondary purchase, after buying stuff that's of greater interest.

So, Omin Dran as one of the Masked Lords of Waterdeep is full canon now. The guys in the FR wiki must be disappointed
