I don't know about everyone else, but I've never been any kind of fan of the map of Darkhold that we got in the Castles box set way back when. It was not interesting to me and seemed like it was whipped up without too much effort.
Today I was looking at old maps and turned to one of Castle Ravenloft. Now THAT is a well done map for a Castle. Now, I've never been much one for Ravenloft so my brain starts thinking, this could pretty easily fit in replacement of what we have for Darkhold. Plus, it gets the Castle up into the cliffs where its more defensible. Barovia could then be the village of Darkhold Vale.
What do you guys think? Aside from the obvious "that's not canon" argument - see any reason not to go there?
