Ok, years ago, I read the Crystal Shard trilogy, and maybe one or two other books with Drizzt, and really enjoyed them. So while unpacking, I realized I had Legend of Drizzt book 1 , and sat down and started reading it.
So yeah, I'm hooked. I'm planning on doing a chronological read through of all the Drizzt stuff, and was wondering if anybody could list, or point me to a complete list of ALL the Drizzt stories in chronological order. That means with any short stories, or original comics (if there are any) slotted in the proper places.
Oh, and has anybody else beside Salavatore done any Drizzt or Drisst related stuff? I'd be interested in those too. Thanks a bunch.

Well, Bob's quite the busy writer and has had something of a tendency to put out at least one Realms novel a year since 1987, so you're not lacking for choice.
A few years ago, all of the older Drizzt novels were re-released with Todd Lockwood's new cover art in a consolidated 'Legend of Drizzt' series.
Your suggested reading order would be as follows -
Book I: Homeland (The Dark Elf Trilogy #1; hardcover, March 2004, ISBN 978-0-7869-3123-1; paperback, December 2005, ISBN 978-0-7869-3953-4; audio book, 26. March 2013) Book II: Exile (The Dark Elf Trilogy #2; hardcover, June 2004, ISBN 978-0-7869-3126-2; paperback, March 2006, ISBN 978-0-7869-3983-1; audio book, 9. April 2013) Book III: Sojourn (The Dark Elf Trilogy #3; hardcover, December 2004, ISBN 978-0-7869-3081-4; paperback, June 2006, ISBN 978-0-7869-4007-3; audio book, 29. April 2013) Book IV: The Crystal Shard (The Icewind Dale Trilogy #1; hardcover, March 2005, ISBN 978-0-7869-3613-7; paperback, January 2007, ISBN 978-0-7869-4246-6; audio book, 5. May 2013) Book V: Streams of Silver (The Icewind Dale Trilogy #2; hardcover, July 2005, ISBN 978-0-7869-3762-2; paperback, May 2007, ISBN 978-0-7869-4265-7; audio book, 21. May 2013) Book VI: The Halfling's Gem (The Icewind Dale Trilogy #3; hardcover, November 2005, ISBN 978-0-7869-3825-4; paperback, August 2007, ISBN 978-0-7869-4289-3; audio book, 4. OK cool, thanks a bunch. And I didn't know about the Tymora's Stone books.
Now, I just need to know where to place the short stories into the timeline. And isn't there comics, too? IDW pit them out or something? |

My understanding is that the IDW comics are graphic novel variants of the above-listed books.

There are a few stories in the "Collected Stories" that cover events that are glossed over in the main series. "Comrades at Odds" is also featured in Anthology of the Elves, and takes place between Two Swords and The Orc King. I would read "Collected Stories" before Gauntlgrym. |

Oh I know about those. But I'm pretty sure there's one or two miniseries that are original stories. Neverwinter Tales, or something? I believe it was a 5 issue mini IDW put out.
And Corellon, I'm going to be reading the short stories one at a time, in their proper place in the timeline, if I can figure out where they all go. |

Hey got another question. I'm looking at the Drizzt timeline and it seems like the series just skips right over the Time of Troubles. Are there any stories that take place in between 1358 and 1364, which is when his story seems to pick back up after the Icewind Dale Trilogy. |

The Legacy of the Drow (4 books in the series) covers the Time of Troubles. Some of Bob's better books in my opinion. |

There's a site that has FR books listed in several ways. By date of publishing, Reading Order for trilogies, Timeline (Books only). |
