Hello everyone! Is there any information about post-spellplague Dambrath?

There isn't much information about Dambrath at all.

Most of what is said about Dambrath can be found within 15-20 pages of the 2E FR16 Shining South supplement and the entire 2E Counselors and Kings novel trilogy. And a little in the 3E Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, and a little more in the 4E Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide. And even a little more in the Grand History of the Realms.

Here's the few useful things I could find online ...
History of the Crinti in Alaundo's Library
Dambrath at the Forgotten Realms Wiki
Dambrath Index at Xaeyruudh's encyclowikiblog of the Forgotten Realms
I wish to know about Dambrath in Faerun at Spellhold Studios
Forgotten Realms - Dambrath Questions at the EN World Archives

I suppose you could look to your 4E and 5E maps of the Realms to see how Dambrath has fared. I seriously doubt WotC will ever present any new canon for this "disinteresting" region (unless they replace it with a crater when 6E comes around), so it looks to me like you have an opportunity to do whatever you like with the Dambrath region and should have little fear of violating precious canon, lol.

yeah dambrath got hit hard after being one of the more interesting places in 2nd/3rd edition.

A half-drow cowboy society that worships the goddess of pain, sold!

Then they had them curbstomped by a bunch of barberians.

I kind of want the crinti to make a comeback.

Just wondering... with the new society... do you see any chances of Durthans relocating there and being successful at setting up a sect kind of like the Wychlaran, but basically supporting the new barbarian kings?

Then, just to throw a twist into that idea, what if those Durthans were infiltrated by Crintri (maybe making a willing alliance). I'll definitely admit, this concept might be a far stretch.

Alavairthae, may your skill prevail

never liked Dambrath.

why is being a wizard like being a drow? both are likely to find a dagger in the back from a rival or one looking to further his own goals, fame and power

Probably the best source of Lore for the place.

"These things also I have observed: that knowledge of our world is
to be nurtured like a precious flower, for it is the most precious
thing we have. Wherefore guard the word written and heed
words unwritten and set them down ere they fade . . . Learn
then, well, the arts of reading, writing, and listening true, and they
will lead you to the greatest art of all: understanding."

Thank you for answers guys! But I already have all 2E/3E information about Dambrath. Looks like there's really no 4E/5E info. And actually no Faerun at all...only Sword Coast. Meh...

As someone who's always been a fan of the Shining South, one of my major pet peeves with 4E is the inexcusably horrendous way they handled the Shining South. They literally spellnuked it to bits with a giant hole composing of half the Shaar, turned Halruaa into a liveless wasteland. Sunk down completely the halfling country of Luiren and Var the Golden other parts of the Shining Lands because there was total demand of that from the customers of course, and they had to they had to take one very unique and interesting society of evil Loviatan matriarchal half-drows (known as the Crinti) whom had a lot of connection and trade with Underdark realms and the 4E devs decided to completely destroy this concept by having the native barbarians burn down all the cities and murder all the half-drow. And of course the book had to explicitly say that all of the Crinti were murdered in the aftermath, just to tarnish any hopes of there at least being any diversity left in Dambrath

If they wanted to have a tribal land of free Arkaiuns (native people of Dambrath) barbarians, it was already there. It was called the Swagdar, but no they had to completely make the whole country one big generic barbarian swamp. And apparently we are supposed to pay and praise WotC for shrinking the Realms

According to the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide pg.116 drow half-elves are still most numerous within the nation of Dambrath. So, the crinti are not all gone.

The Sword Coast is on the continent of Faerūn.

I think he means more that there's not a lot of info, if any, on Faerun beyond the sword coast.

The 2e-3e era stuff is nearly useless in 5e, except as a historical note.

4e Dambath's material is still mostly relavant as Dambrath didn't change as much as many regions when switching over to 5e.

So basically human tribes lead by Werecreatures and Shifters.

If the Crinti survive at all, they've likely either living in a Drow city, unlikely, or have built their own in the underdark.

Wooly, I'm a big FR fan since 2001, so, do you really think I don't know where is Sword Coast?

Hey, I wasn't sure... I just saw a statement of "the focus was on a small part of the continent and not on the continent at all."

I was just clarifying in case you were one of our newer people... We don't have "been a Realms fan since year whatever" as a profile option.

How far back do we want to go if such as feature was added?
