I've been writing to 'the Would-be assasins' and its getting kinda lame. I'm not saying that its a bad story or anything, the characters are overpowered (including my own). We're just showing how powerful we are and the adventure moves nowhere (And I'm somewhat responsible for that. Being new and all ). I'd be glad to strip off some of my characters powers, but then my character would be weak compared to the others. I really enjoy RPG opportunity here, but with weaker party.
Now, I'm going to open my own story here and I hope that people will join me, but with 'normal' characters. I'll take off my characters psionic powers and make him a average-power bladesinger. No world-destroyer, but definetly not a whimp who gets beaten up by the first rat he meets.

I was thinking I was gonna be a rogue some added flavour and skill from Kara-tur, but really if I was that I could easily see that I couldn't compete with the elf bladesinger/cleric/psion who uses a different kind of psionic power so he can pierce a normal mindshield, some odd sort of mirror image that involves clones, or the avariel/drow (how the hell did that happen? I thought an avariel mating with a drow would breed either a drow or an avariel, not something in between) who copies the other drow in the group, or the chosen of vhaeraun for that matter who can can do anything better than anyone else. It has just really turned out to be some sort of competition to see who can beat who and not leave any weakness exposed. So yes it has gotten damn lame. It got out of hand already on page 1 when Shadowlord introduced his Shadow double. Keep it on the normal level please.
Don't get me wrong guys, you are all nice people, but it damn well got out of hand, in the end we are all to blame cos we took it too far.
Also this is extremely difficult to do because no one has statted out their character for others to see so one can only assume what the other person is capable off. You can't really do anything that involves the other character and puts the other PC in a bad light because the PC might not agree with what the other PC has just done with him. An example would be page 3 where I have captured the slaad in my silk and has the thing under control, that is until Narad takes over and lets the slaad absorb the silk and then cuts the silk string, then later saying I should thank him for saving me. If I had been in any trouble I wouldn't have let it come that close to me, and really who says the silk is able to be cut?
Things like that really, it doesn't work cos basically it was 4 DM's playing their NPC's and the other people's NPC's. We move in on conflicting territory so to speak.
Only one who kept it decent was Raven really. |
A wise man from Calimport once told me: "If a merchant puts sand in the flask of oil he's trying to sell you, then he isn't trying to sell you sand..." |

Sorry about that slaad-thing. BTW That silk thing is new to me. How did you get the idea for it?
I'll however start a new one once I come up with some sort of storyline and you are more than welcome to join in with a decent character. I was thinking that each one should first reveal their characters (the basics at least, some mystery is always a good thing ) so that everyone can see what they are made of. |

No problem Narad, how could you have known really ? I didn't say anything that could have let you known, but it just served as an example really. It would be nice to start all over really. And yeah I aggree, it would be nice to reveal some of the character, but not everything of course |

Good that its settled then. So that makes the two of us, I wonder if others will join too. Just need to avoid touching other PCs, right? That might be hard. Just that no one kills anyone and doesn't go insulting other player's PC... Hmm.. Ah, we'll see then! |
