How does being possessed by a ghost feel in-character?

Came up in a game recently and it occurred to me the vast lore here might have the answer.

Are there examples in the novels or stories somewhere of how being possessed by a ghost feels in D&D?

Do you awaken with no memory of your actions afterwards or do you remember it all as though a dream?

Van Richten's Guide to Ghosts might have some appropriate info on the subject.

you know what the difference between shaking hands with the dead and the living?

the living are warm to the tough, while the dead are cold to the touch. the first feel of being possessed by a ghost is a cold presence around them.... the rest of it, would be nothing....

why is being a wizard like being a drow? both are likely to find a dagger in the back from a rival or one looking to further his own goals, fame and power

This book says that a ghost can dominate or take a body. And if it takes a body, it destroys the original spirit to take its place...

Let your deeds speak your intentions.
Goodness radiated from the heart."
