Every couple month, they're going to review and highlight some DMGuild uploaded products, and consider their addition to official D&D.

That said, I'm rather baffled that Seethyr's work about Maztica (http://www.dmsguild.com/product/171534/TWC1Maztica-Campaign-Guide) wasn't included. It basically is a CS on its own, and--with all due respect to the reviewed works--it was at least worthy of a mention... The same goes for the articles that George Krashos uploaded.

I guess that they mostly go for rules, monsters, or adventures.

I definitely agree that those articles are more than worthy of mention. But as you point out, it seemes they'll be looking at more crunchy bits. It's what Unearthed Arcana has been focusing on, what with playtest rules and such, so it makes sense that's what they'll focus on going forward.

...And none of those articles were ones I'd looked at. I'm interested in lore, pure and simple.

The adventure preview is interesting. I didn't think you could label an adventure as "set in the Forgotten Realms" when that translates to "this adventure can be set under most Forgotten Realms cities". I mean, why bother going through the motions ...? It's about as much of a Realms adventure as it is a Greyhawk adventure.

Because sadly a lot of people in the DM's Guild aren't really interested in the Realms, just making a quick buck (and sadly that likely extends to Mike Mearls and the current D&D team.) It's an exciting platform for Realms fans, but I think they're going to be the same flood of crap you saw in 2000 (and that you see to some degree for Pathfinder now.)

I'd not expect anyone to get into the DM's Guild to make a quick buck; not with a limited audience and splitting your profits.

I think more of what's on there is "OMG! My idea is SO kewl! Must show everyone how awesome I am!" or "Ooh, I can slap a couple things down on paper and go to work for Wizards of the Coast!"

When I wrote my document about Eilistraee for the DMGuild, I mostly hoped that people interested in the drow would read about her and maybe see what she's actually about, instead of QQing that she's a cheap excluse for Drizzt clones, or thinking that her goal is to change the skin of the drow.

I also wanted to try and make some sense out of LP and put Eilistraee's return to use, but I certainly don't think that WotC would even read my pdf, or that I am awesome for gathering Ed's lore in one place, lol.
