The Pale Master is an odd class that combines increasing defensive capabilities with a handful of touch attacks based on undead creatures and typical necromantic effects.
On the other hand, Dungeons and Dragons Online presents the Pale Master as a super-necromantic specialist that combines an increasingly potent negative energy version of the archmage's Arcane Fire or Pathfinder's Arcane Blast with an increased damage to negative energy spells as well as the ability to take on a series of undead forms, from zombies to liches.
I'm thinking of updating the class for PF with heavy alterations. Instead of just touch attacks, I'm thinking of offering the Pale Master a chance to specialize between channeling undeath and being shrouded in undeath.
For channeling undeath, the PM follows a rough path of gaining undead attacks, like a ghoul's touch or a bodak's glare. For being shrouded, the PM assumes the characteristics of various undead creatures for x rounds, starting with zombies.
Thoughts?

An interesting take. Would the channeling be an additional feature added OR are you taking something away? Also, does the selection of channeling negate you're ability to make specific touch attacks? Currently the Pale Master is sort of "meh" considering you can only make a total of 3 specialized touch attacks per day at 10th level.
As for the shrouded feature, are we talking about things like auras or shadowy-shields? I could even see something like giving them the ability of Wraiths to become incorporeal for a short duration OR give them the Hardness of bone that rates higher as they level (ex. DR 5 @ 3rd|10 @ 6th|15 @ 9th/Bludgeoning). |

I'm contemplating letting the undead channeling abilities draw from the typical wizard school power daily uses - in this case, the necromancer's grave touch.
Shrouding is something like that, yes. Shroud of the Wraith would give the caster wraith abilities (incorporeal, Str touch, flight) for x rounds. Shroud of the Vampire would give +x to Str and Cha, a level drain touch and weakness to sunlight. Shroud of the Lich gives +x to all mental ability scores, a lich's touch and a +1 bonus to necromancy spell DC. |
