Ed posted this in his Facebook feed in case anyone here is interested in checking it out. Hope it's appropriate to share this news here...
"It's rare that I DM the Realms online, so if you want to see what a pickup Forgotten Realms session, set in (well, mainly under) the North Ward of Waterdeep, looks like . . . I can't promise no tentacles. ;}"
**** So, this is happening: Saturday, Nov. 21st, 7 p.m. CST: D&D game.
The players: Gregory Wilson, Erik Scott de Bie, Chris A. Jackson, Peter V. Brett, Myke Cole, and myself.
The Dungeonmaster: Ed Greenwood
Greg will be streaming the session on his Twitch channel. Hope you can join us to watch what should be an epic game for many, many reasons!

Wow this is so cool (in the nerdit way..) Only thing that would be more awesome was if Candlekeep hosted a competition where the top five or so won an online session with Ed.
;) ;) ;)
Please? |

I've always heard tales, but never seen the master in action. This is going to be a treat. :) |

It would be a ton of fun to partake in one of these. |

Damn you! *shakes fist* |
“Fantasy is escapist, and that is its glory. If a soldier is imprisioned by the enemy, don't we consider it his duty to escape?. . .If we value the freedom of mind and soul, if we're partisans of liberty, then it's our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as we can!” #8213; J.R.R. I'm really, really tempted to cancel my regular game session for this... is it going to be recorded and available to watch later? |

I sat in on one of these years ago when Ed was the guest of honor at UCon at Michigan. It was, indeed, very cool.
Though since I'm in Europe, I might need to stay up really late for this. So I'll second the earlier question: will it be recorded? |
Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well. |

Oh wonderful. That means I don't need to stay up to 2 AM. On the even brighter side, now I know what I'll be watching tomorrow. :) |

Bummer. I'm here, and I can only see the chat. Player doesn't play.
The player works once I turn on all the autoplay permissions, but now it's lagged out.
Sortakinda fixed!
Still looking forward to the recorded version and hoping for the best.

I hope the players have fun tonight.
The recording should be interesting to watch. I can't see it tonight because we're watching the Cotto-Alvarez fight tonight. |

THO,
Please tell Ed this was a blast and a ton of fun to listen to tonight! Any thoughts on trying this for a home Realms campaign session?
If possible I wouldn't mind knowing more about the Nath. Pretty friendly for an Underdark monster. Is it really the only one in the Realms? Is it an Underdark native or transplant from elsewhere?
Anything that can be told about that Sharran cult and its leader? Where the Underdark portal leads to?
Fun times! |

Yeah! Lots of fun & laughter which, after all, is what most tabletop RPGs should be.
Looking forward to the recording being posted. |
