Just making my way through Charon's claw.I'm curious as to draygo quicks character.were does he fit into the chain of command in netherese society.he's powerful but is he way down the chain of command in comparison to the princes.

I think the netherese just might consider him a mercenary and nothing more. fir if you are not netherese, you are nothing to them |
why is being a wizard like being a drow? both are likely to find a dagger in the back from a rival or one looking to further his own goals, fame and power

In the novels, he reminds Herzgo Alegni (who commands a small force of his own) that it was Draygo who inducted him into the Circle of Power and gave him a title and soldiers. He also reminds Algni that he can undo it all with a word. Draygo has his own castle, and is said several times to be a warlock of great renown among the Netherese. He has a considerable number of minions, and the Netherese mercenary group Cavas Dun offers his a lot of respect. We're not explicitly told, but given the evidence, I would say that he's 1 step below the Princes in the hierarchy (2 at most). |

Thinking of it in a feudal respect, you could say that Telamont is king, his sons princes (duh), Hadrhune is some kind of grand vizier (enjoying temporal power roughly equal to a prince but with a greater influence on the king). Then you have the dukes, barons and knights who run other shadowfell cities and strongholds or lead men. From what was said in the novels, I'd hazard that Draygo Quick is a powerful baron while Alegni is a mid-ranked knight. Cavas Dun would be an order of knights but its leader would command more power than Alegni. |

I agree with hashimashadoo. Those books indicate that netheril still has lands and holdings in the shadowfell and it seems draygo is the ruler of one such holding. But if I remember correctly he still is below the (higher) lords of netheril. |

Eh, those Shades are Shar's folk. So the most accurate answer to the subject probably would be "Sore wa himitsu desu"(c) |
