I'm running the 5E Princes of the Apocalypse campaign. So I'm going to be moving the elemental temples away from a megadungeon all together to 4 different themed locations. The problem I am having is I'm rusty on Realms geography and having a hard ime coming up with cool place sto move the temples to.
I'd like to use Ht. Hotenow for the fire Temple locale. Other than that, I'm at a loss for locations.
On the fly, I think the water temple could be located as a still half-drowned venue in the Vilhon Wilds, the old sea bed for the Vilhon Reach. You could even make some light references to the psionics of Jhaamdath.
I think it would be very busy if you moved the fire temple to Mount Hotenow what with all the shenanigans going on in Gauntlgrym/Q'Xorlarrin.
If you like the idea of volcanoes, you could look at the Peaks of Flame in western Chult where getting to the temple could be half the challenge.
I agree with Taurendil that the Vilhon Wilds would be a perfect place for the water temple.
I'm not sure what the status of The Deep Maw is post-Sundering (whether it's frozen over or been reclaimed by the Anauroch Desert or even filled in) but I think it'd be a good place for the earth temple and could involve both old and new netherese magic.
The air temple is more tricky. I'd like to see it hidden above the clouds but that means it could practically be placed anywhere.
When life turns it's back on you...sneak attack for extra damage.

Something on top of or above the Cloud Peaks? Seems an air themed kinda place to me.
Jesus said, "I am the Ressurection and the Life. Anyone who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and those who live and believe in Me will never die. Do you believe this?"
